Winter Wishes with BoBunny

More snowy pictures using Winter Wishes from BoBunny.  I started my page with some blue china and iced spruce distress oxides- using the technique we used at the retreat, adding it to a plastic bag and then printing it onto the page.  Once it was dry I then added some little bits of rough stamping around where my photo was going to go.  I then layered up lots of paper and added some little peaks of the silver foiled vellum in this collection to add a bit of sparkle - I tucked in as many layers as I could to add interest and inked all the edges of my papers in blue china too.  I mounted my page on the paper Winter Wishes (I did gut the centre so I could use bits of the reverse side in my photo layers).

Here you can see the inky layers and a little bit of the snowflake vellum.  I also added a string of wire pearls in a circle around the photo, using staples to attach them to the page.

January's Sketch Challenge

Hello, hello - Karen here with an new year long challenge for 2018 - well it's not something you have to do all year but just once every month :0)

Every month, on the fourth Friday, I will post a sketch with my take on it and then I will look forward to seeing what you make of it.

This is the sketch I have chosen this month - if you click on it, you will be taken to the original in Ana Castro's blog where you will be able to see what other people have done with it.

It is no secret that I love a good sketch to work from and hope you do too.  Post photos of your layouts on our Facebook page.

For my version I used Simple Stories Wonderland collection.

Wintry double pages with Simple Stories

After all the snow I had lots of pictures and decided to use Winter Wonderland to make a double page layout.  All my photos are 3 by 4s.  I anchored either side of the layout with 2 long strips, then linked the 2 pages across the middle - I did have to spend a little time working out where the repeat came on the striped paper - bit like wallpapering! Then put my photos across the middle, then just layered up lots of the co-ordinating embellishments that you get with the Simple Stories papers and some of the paper stickers which have lots of useful phrases that you can add to the photos.

I really like the embellishments with this line, the little tickets and cones.

There are also some snowflakes and I love the little snowman!

January Virtual Crop Class 3 with Debbie Jewell

Welcome to the last class of the day. Debbie is having some issues connecting with Blogger so she has emailed me the following to post on her behalf...

Welcome to the final class of today's virtual crop where we will be using Echo Parks' 'Hello Winter' papers to scrap those chilly photos you have all been snapping this season.

The fabulous shades of blue and graphic designs are perfect winter backdrops for your photographs.

Full instructionscan be found here.

As always we'd love to see you pages on our Facebook page here.
Happy scrapping!
Debsx

January Virtual Crop Class 2 with Ann

Well what a gorgeous start to your January virtual crop with those lovely pages from Karen. Moving away from those pretty floral papers to a seasonal collection by Simple Stories for my class today.

I created a simple, quick to pull together layout and a mini-book to feature photos from our December just gone which we packed full of adventures.

Instructions can be downloaded here and I hope you join in.

If you have the kit I removed all title strips and refer to the papers by describing the patterns. If you don't have the kit but want to play along and make the mini book you will need 2 sheets of 12"x12" card (I used one black and one cream and these are mostly for photo mounts but also elements of the book) and about 6 sheets of 12"x12" patterned paper from the same collection or which can be combined together to make the book.

Your next class will be up at 2pm with the very lovely and talented Debbie J.

January Virtual Crop Class 1 with Karen

Hello Lovlies.  Welcome to the first Virtual Crop class of 2018.  This is a two page class using 5 x 7 in photos - my absolute faviourite size.

The first page features a photo of Gracia and Josh, on one of their frequent holidays abroad, I think this was in Croatia.  I have used the word paper for the title and this page involves a little fussy cutting.

For my second page I have made some little circular embellishments to add to my page and have used one of my favourite photos of Gracia and me.  One I have scrapped many times - do you scrap the same photo more than once!

Ann is up at 12 - I wonder what magic she has worked with her kit.

Wishing you a happy scrappy weekend and please share the pages you make on our Facebook page - you don't have to have purchased the kit to join in and can interpret the class any way you wish with your own supplies.

January virtual crop challenge

Welcome to your Friday night January virtual crop challenge ahead of our virtual crop day tomorrow featuring 3 classes for you to download from your design team.

For 2018 virtual crop challenges we are going to use mood boards to inspire a layout or craft project each month. I chose the following mood board for January as I felt it was neutral enough to inspire scrapping photos from this time of year.

I used the colours of the boards greys, soft blue and pale pink to inspire this page where I featured a photo of my daughter (in a woolly hat - inspired by the wool jumper) and I, the snowflakes (weather related like the cloud on the mood board) and lots of gems (inspired from those featured on the shoes).

Our challenge today is for you to take a look at the mood board and see where it takes yours creativity, then share your page on our 2018 mood board gallery with the month of the board and your name.  We will share our favourites ahead of next months virtual crop.

See you tomorrow for your first class at 10am with Karen.

Winter wonder

Hello crafty people!
Sharing a page today made recently with the winter products in my January Design Team kit which featured stunning Kaisercraft papers and some Simple Stories. Seems apt to share on this chilly January day!

This background page is Kaisercraft and so pretty that I didn't want to cover up much of it!. The brown snowflakes, photo mat, skates and I HEART Winter piece are from Simple Stories.

I also added some gems to the snowflake centres and the white wooden snowflake I found in my embellishments. The larger sparkly snowflakes were from the front on a pack of discounted Christmas Cards in the January Sale, £1 for 6!! Bargain for scrapbook embellishments and perfect for winter pages.

Scraplift Challenge - January 2018

Hello, hello, Karen here with the first Scraplift Challange of the year.

You will have noticed that it is now on the second weekend of each month and I also have a little something for you on the fourth weekend of the month but you will have to wait and see what that is.

This month I have scraplifted a page from the December Gallery, by Ann, which can be found on the ATDML shop website on the right under Information.

Ann LO5 - Joy (Mint Wishes)

I took inspiration from the photo being inside the letter O, overlapping title and the horizontal strips.

I made my title using my Silhouette (well would you have expected anything else) and the papers and stickers I used were from Simple Stories.

As always, I am really excited to see what you come up with this month.

Happy Scraplifting x

The Little (un-needed) Christmas Album

Hello, hello lovlies , be warned this is a photo heavy post.

This Christmas was supposed to be the first Christmas Gracia and Josh spent in their new house but, as we all know these things don't always go to plan and what with solicitors being ill, estate agents being unavailable and countless other problems it wasn't to be.

I had made a little album for Gracie to record their first Christmas in their own house but it has laid in my workroom not needed and unloved.  I came across it whilst tidying today and thought - it will keep until next year and by then they will have the puppy they both crave and be able to fill it with fun photos and anyway that will still be their first Christmas even if it is 2018 and they will have lived in their house for almost a year.

Here are some of the pages just aching to be filled with happy memories.

Did you make a little Christmas mini this year?  If so we would love to see it xxx

Journaling Prompts - January

On the first Sunday of every month there will be a journaling prompt to give you a little inspiration for your layouts, titles and journaling.

Where possible we will try to add some examples as well.

Please do pop over to the ATDML # Create Facebook page where you can add your photos to the journaling prompt gallery.

This months Journaling Prompt is...

Add interest to longer pieces of journaling by mixingin stickers and typed words into your handwritten journaling.

This layout using the Basic Grey Adrift collection makes use of the three co-ordinating alphabet fonts available on the sticker sheet that was in the collection.

For this layout I combined small alphabet stickers and alphabet stamps to add interest and highlight specific words. In addition I added hand drawn borders to the stickers.

Finally a mixture of letter stickers and pieces of co-ordinating cardstock cut to a size where I could fit a single word on it allowed me to add pops of colour.

Happy New Year ATDMLers!

Lovely to welcome you all to another year of inspiration and blog posts from your ATDML team. What crafty goals do you have for the year? Have you started with a clear out of craft items you never use ready to make space for all the new products you will fall in love with? Have you joined any crafty challenges?

As for 2017 and the years before we have a plan to bring you a month at a time of inspiration form the team including a challenge or two, our regular virtual crop days on the 3rd Saturday of each month and sharing pages made by your DT featuring the latest and greatest products on the market.

One of my aims this month is to complete my December Daily journal which I do each year. I used a 6x8 album and a mixture of page protectors, 6x8 pages, envelopes, cards etc and mix them up with photos and journaling. Last night I completed a few more pages but I think the end of Jan to finish is a good aim.

I also want to do a double layout a month (maybe more for key events) to scrap my 2018 highlights making the most of some silhouette files (where I plan to set a little more time aside to master this more!)

What are your plans? What would you like to see from your team? Do let us know and join us on our Facebook page if you haven't already for more sharing. See you soon!
