August virtual crop with Tricia and 49& Market

Welcome to the August Virtual crop! This month I've been playing about with 49& Market.  This range has a proper vintagey feel with a mix of neutral and pastel tones. 

The set is accompanied by a lovely set of stickers which are perfect for everything from titles, journalling or embellishments. The range is great for everyday subjects too - a walk in the park, a visit to a local market or just celebrating every day task.

August 2024 Virtual crop class 2 with Tricia

 

Good Morning all and welcome to my class in this month's Virtual crop.

I was thrilled to get to play around with Simple stories 'Pack your bags'.  It’s such a fun colourful range with lovely travel motifs and a collection that will let you create your own clusters of embellishments in the layouts to suit your photos.

The dual sides of the papers will also allow you to flip your options and the range of double sided tags have cute edges to compliment your colours.

Class 14 Rachel & Bloomingdales with Tricia

 

Its time to shop my Friends!!!

We are off to Bloomingdates with the gorgeous Blessed collection from Kaisercraft!  The gorgeous prints in this kit are the perfect inspiration for this fashion mecca themed class. 

I wanted to take inspiration not only from the incredible clothes inside the building but also the iconic exterior. For the first layout I wanted to represent the black and white front of the building by recreating all the windows, showcasing the fabrics and models inside. I also wanted to give a big nod to the art deco-esque sign in the title/journalling.

... but it's whats inside that counts so layout 2 was a tribute to the fabrics and fashion that Bloomingdales has sold since the late 1800's. Not only will we be replicating bales of billowing fabric but we will also be screen printing too. Class 7 The One about Central park with Tricia

 

Good afternoon friends!

We are off for a picnic in Central park with Simple stories and their yummy 'Simple vintage spring garden' collection.  

For the first layout I wanted to take inspiration from the incredible overhead pictures that I have seen of Central Park with the beautiful green floral oasis in the centre of a grey urban-scape.  I also wanted to represent all the various little sections of the park from literary walk to the Swiss house.

Class 4 - PIVOT!!!! with Tricia

 

Good morning all 

It's so lovely to be back for a mega cybercrop,  I hope you are all enjoying the weekend so far.  

                                         

I'll be using Pinkfresh's collection 'making the best of it' to create a class inspired by the iconic 'Pivot' episode. Just like when Ross, Rachel and Chandler are moving the sofa about, we'll be rotating the elements across the page, playing with positioning and when all else fails cut it in half :0)

May 24 Virtual crop class with Tricia

Good Morning everyone and welcome to May's Virtual crop.

Today I'm making the most of the great weather we have had/are having/hope to have*

* delete as appropriate ;0) 

For my first layout I'll be visiting the seaside for a walk and combining sandy tones and blues with a pop of sunshine orange.  I've used these fab acetate elements to create my own personalised negative strips to accompany my main photo.  I've also used the gorgeous newspaper style paper for a nod to seaside fish and chips too.

For the second layout I'll be creating a shuttered look, I wanted to give the look of garden fences and peeking out through the window shutters out to the garden.  We'll be breaking down and reforming an image to make the most of the incredible design.

June Virtual crop class 2 with Tricia

 

Good afternoon campers!

And welcome to your second class of the day and I'm hoping with all the good weather we have been having you have made it over to the beach (or popped the sprinklers on :) 

The 49 & beach range is full of pastel shades and blue skies along with some fabulous nautical accents.  They are perfect for some lovely sunny day photos and I've teamed the up with some gorgeous glossy epoxy stickers with some fab features.

On top of that if you have some glossy accents and some string grab those too to add extra zing to the layouts and stretch your kits to 3 layouts.  We'll be using glossy accent to create water droplets and and splashes across all three pages for a subtle touch.

March Virtual crop with Tricia Sutherland

 

Good Morning campers!!!

I'll be getting stuck in to the 'Bee happy' range from Photoplay today!  These papers are gorgeously themed with bee and honeycomb motifs and buzzing with hot summer reds, yellows and some gorgeous teal blues.

The aim of the day it to take inspiration from the layered honeycombs to create dimensions and impact across all three pages!

The best part is they can be adapted to suit a range of outdoor themes from summer fields to concerts and much more and the pages coming in clashing prints you can really create impact using soft florals and 70's geometrics.

August Cyber crop - Tricia with Pink Fresh celebrate

 Good morning Campers!!

Welcome to day 2! 

Today I'll be using the gorgeous Celebrate range from Pink Fresh.  Full of beautiful blush tones and oversized florals it is perfect for all the outdoor get togethers we have been having lately.

The papers are full of gorgeous sweeping groups of florals that beg to be fussy cut and that's exactly what I did! I also loved the falling trellis on the 'Everyday' paper and set about making the most of it on the 2nd layout.

Stash Busting with Tricia - Titles and phrases

 

I love fonts, titles and phrases.  I own a shedload of thickers and love cutting my own diecut titles.  The downside is sometimes I can be left with some leftover phrases and titles.

Now and again I love making these the focus of my page, it's a great way of using up similar phrases and can act as your title(s) and journaling all as one.  

A great way is to focus of attributes or similar meaning and work out area you want to focus on - block, crossword or frame.  A rainbow mix can look great against a neutral backdrop or go monochrome.  Whatever you choose, don't forget to share the final results over on the facebook page.

Stash Busting with Tricia - Rub ons

Hello everyone and welcome back

I have a funny relationship with rub on transfers, I love the variety the come in and how versatile they are but I'm really rubbish at biting the bullet and actually using them.  When I came across these moustache ones in my stash, I couldn't resist going to town on this layout and create a complete panel as the main feature of the page.  

Using groups of rub ons is almost like creating your own bespoke backing paper, and the best part is that no matter what your theme you can create groups of any motif or use a selection of words that complement your photos.  So hunt out those rub ons and don't forget to share your version over on the facebook page.

 

Stash Busting with Tricia - Bling

Hi All

I hope you are enjoying your weekend busting some stash!!

I love a bit of bling on my pages and have boxes of different colours/shapes/ sizes and that's just the start of it!! On top of that I have a whole host of brads (some with bling) with different finishes.  So given my obsession collection I wanted to create a page that really went to town on them!!

When I was in Morocco I loved the beautiful lampshades available at the Medina and wanted to recreate the beautiful light they shed.  I pulled together a mix of gems, brads and eyelets to complement the light, brass lampshades and orange light they shed and formed them into the outline of the lantern.

So why not join me and grab some photos of you in your favourite sequinned dress, a super sunny day or a glittery beach view and go to town on the bling! I cant wait to see what you all get up to over on the facebook page - see you there!!!

 

July Sketch challenge with Tricia

Morning guys 

Welcome to this month's sketch challenge which has been inspired by the Simple stories Sunkissed range.  I love the bright colours of this range and I wanted to match the bright primary colours with primary shapes. 

I love this photo of my nephew and his Dad on one of their first holidays and the blue skies and sunglasses was a perfect match for these papers.  With the good weather we have had this year I'm sure you have a good few snaps that would suit this layout or why not switch it all up and create your own layout using the sketch as a basis.  Flip it, rotate it but whatever you do, don't forget to upload your example in the Facebook album so we can see what you have been up to.

 

June Virtual Crop class 2 with Simple stories and Tricia

 

Good Morning guys!!

Welcome to class 2 of this month's Virtual crop!

This afternoon we'll be using the gorgeous, Vintage cottage fields range from Simple stories.  This range is full of soft colours inspired by blooming flowers and nature found in your back garden.

For my first page I wanted to bring elements of looking out your window across your garden (one of my favourite views from my house and slatted fences with climbing flowers.

I layered the chipboard frames and backfilled two of them with strips of paper to create a slatted effect.  I also made use of the frames with grouped flowers to also create a trellis effect. I added in some wood effect alphas to complement the theme.

For my second layout I wanted to capture the mood of sitting out in my blooming garden with bunting or festoon lighting and fluttering butterflies all around.  

So grab those photos of lockdown walks, picnics in the garden (or the Park) or just you in your favourite flowery top!!

AROUND THE WORLD CYBERCROP CLASS 11 - NEW YORK WITH TRICIA

 

Good afternoon Campers

New York is one of my favourite cities in the world, it's the place I keep returning to time and time again.  

More than anything, I love being out on the streets and could walk all day round the city just people watching.  The added bonus to this is the street art which is everywhere, large building sized pieces to the tiny pasteups typical of the city.  

In this class I'll be using Simple stories 'Reset girl' to replicate the elements of New York that I love - the gritty street art, the urban colours, the skyline and the city studded with little urban parks to chill out (a bit like Edinburgh) 

In the second layout I wanted to replicated the reflectiveness of the skyscrapers that bounce the light and reflections back and forward against each other like mirrors.

In the third layout I was inspired by the Highline, a long rail track space saved by the people of New York to create a park.  All along the space is ever changing art work, hidden spaces to hang out and some beautiful gardens.  It's one of my favourite places in the city and I have lost a day just hanging out there before.

AROUND THE WORLD CYBERCROP CLASS 8 - MEXICO WITH TRICIA

Good evening Campers 

Welcome to class 8 of the Around the World cyber crop.  

In this class I'll be taking inspiration from Mexico, a place that is next on my list to visit!  I'll be taking inspiration from traditional Mexican tiles,  strung street lights, sweets, sunsets and piñatas. 

I'll be using the Pinkfresh 'Keeping it real' range which does not only include a brilliant range of beautiful colours but words and sayings which are a perfect accompaniment to photos taken during lockdown. 

 

There will be a little bit of fussy cutting in this class but I couldn't resist all the little details of the 'Daily grind' paper. So grab your scissors and your kit and click here to get the class instructions.
