June VC Class 1 with Ann

Hello my lovelies -  I join you today (albeit virtually) on my 18th Wedding Anniversary. I mean I think this means I should have included more photos of hubby and I on the layouts I have illustrated for you today but I have not! I will make sure to get some today!

So if you were lucky enough to get the lovely Heidi Swapp kit for my class today you will be able to replicate all 4 of my layouts and still have some left over. Otherwise just scrap along with your own stash and use the pages for inspiration - after all...it is just about getting those memories in albums, telling your stories and enjoying the creative process whilst you do.

Your instructions showing all of my pages and how to create them can be found HERE and I would love to see you versions shared in our Facebook group album. Have a great scrappy day if you are playing along today - or indeed I hope you enjoy the class when you do sit down to play.

Simple Stories Vintage Great Escape

I absolutely love an autumnal / woodland collection and was thrilled I got to work with the Simple Stories Vintage Great Escape this month.

I made a little project that I can keeping secret for now (as it is rather hoped I can teach it to retreat goers this Autumn) and two layouts.

Both layouts make use of the 2x2 paper which is the prefect format for little photos and to showcase the wonderful foliage on the papers.

Plenty of scope to combine some stamping in as well!

These papers are available now in the ATDML online Store.

May Virtual Crop Class 1 with Ann & Simple Stories I AM

Welcome, welcome to my May Virtual Crop class where I bring your three layouts created with Simple Stores I AM papers.

Plenty of cutting out of floral paper in this class and we use an entire sheet of 12x12 flowers across the first two pages, and keep it floral free on the third. All of these pages use standard 4"x6" or 6"x4" photos so even if you didn't manage to grab a kit and/or don't have these papers to hand you should be able to play along and be inspired by the placement of the elements featured.

Pop over the main website using THIS LINK to download your free instructions on how to create all three of my May pages. I'd love to see you share your layouts with us too, just upload your finished projects to our gallery and see what fellow "class mates" created.

Thanks for joining me, have fun and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Advent with ATDML - Dec 3rd - Home decor Twine Tree

Day 3 of your advent inspiration from your atdml design team and I'm sharing an inexpensive home decor item for the holidays that I have had pinned on Pinterest for quite a while it seems!!

You'll need the following supplies for this project: polystyrene cone (Hobbycraft or The Range), wet glue (I used modge podge), string or twine, scissors, an electric tealight and clingfilm or a sandwich bag.

Cover the cone in cling film or a sandwich bag (I used the latter) and then run twine through glue and wrap around the cone. I found it easiest to pour some glue out into a bowl and use my fingers to ensure that the twine was coated as I went along. Work your way up and down the cone in a random fashion being sure to go as high up as possible to get a nice point. Press firmly to help the twine stick to itself as you go.

Set aside to dry (the glue will dry clear) and then carefully remove from the cone using a twisting motion. The bag should then come away with some gentle persuasion but being clear it doesn't matter is small amounts are left behind on the inside of the cone.

Decorate if (I used a few seasonal coloured gems and then place an electric tealight under for a homemade rustic tree decoration for your home.

Pop back tomorrow to open your next creative advent calendar window with Karen and if you didn't see Jane's planner yesterday be sure to check it out, just scroll down or click here.

Go BIG on journaling

Summer holidays which for us means family days out and adventures to make the most of the time I have off work. This layout featuring Simple Stories Bloom & Grow range. It uses one of the papers with a 6" x 12" journaling piece on it featuring a floral design at the base and a faux tape piece at the top which I cut from the paper and then punched down the side with a notebook punch.

I also used the "you", "make" & "happy" words from the same paper along with some alphabet stickers for my title "you make me happy" which I added to the journaling piece and then wrote around the rest of the paper, the grid lines making this very easy to do.

A couple more pieces of paper (including the blue floral also from the paper above) and some stickers complete this page which uses the gorgeous dotty paper as the background.

The full collection of Bloom & Grow can be found here in the shop and our gallery for July features plenty more inspiration using Simple Stories paper. Go take a look HERE >>>>

June Virtual Crop - Class 2 with Ann

Welcome to your second class of the day with yours truly. You should be able to change up the photo sizes on my classes quite easily so don't worry if you don't have the sizes listed on the blog post earlier in the week.

You also don't have to have purchased a class kit to take this class. Simply download the instructions and replicate with your own papers using layout images and paper size measurements to assist.  I've tried to guide you in this best I can.

Your free class instructions for the three layouts I created this month can be found HERE

Enjoy and don't forget to share your pages if you do the class. Pop back here at 2pm for links to your next class from Mel.

June 2016 Virtual Crop Challenge

Happy Virtual Crop day to you all, time to kick start our day of creativity with a challenge, which, as always is based on this day in music history.

Share your pages if you will with either a link below to your online gallery or via uploading them to our ATDML #Create Facebook page. Don't forget to pop back here at 10am for your first class.of the day with Karen. Enjoy!
