February VC Class with Reminisce Be Kind & Ann

Happy Sunday to you all. By the time this goes live I will be standing on the side of a freezing cold rugby pitch so my sunny pages today will hopefully brighten yours.

I have made two layouts and you will have plenty left for another I am sure. Enjoy the class and download the instruction here. If you don't have circule templates you can just a compass or draw around dinner plates - the measurements do not have to be exact x

The Third 'It should be a virtual crop but it isn't' Challenge

To use or collect... That is the question. So today I'm asking as well how many reels of washi tape do you have? If you're anything like me you love them, they're pretty but you forget to use them on your pages...so today I'm challenging you to do exactly that.

There are a couple of ideas below, the first one by atdml customer and retreat regular Tracy Annunziato who created this gem with washi strips instead of patterned paper.

You can also mix your washi strips in with pattern paper like I did on the layouts below.

The much converted gold sparkly washi was even used on this page between paper strips.

Today I'm going to try something I have seen on Pinterest which is to print off journalling onto a piece of paper, then add washi strips over this and rerun through the printer to have colourful journalling strips to add to your projects. I'm told it works best if you use a lighter coloured washi tape without a heavy pattern so the printed text is clearer and print the text bold to help it pop further.  Why not have a go yourself and join me in the washi challenge today?

Do share your prohects made with us on our Facebook page. We'd love to see them.

September Virtual Crop - Class 3 with Debs

Welcome to the last class of today’s Virtual Crop and this time we will be working with the colourful and fun Amy Tangerine Heart and Hustle papers to create two quick and easy layouts to round up your scrappy day.

Inspired by pins on my Pinterest scrappy board I  have created two layouts with this kit and the free instructions are available to download as a PDF here.  I love that the inter-world gives us the opportunity to give and take so many ideas and inspiration from each other. These layouts have elements I have seen on other pages and I hope you enjoy my interpretation of these using this range of fresh and funky papers from American Crafts.

Please share your creations or pop in for a chat on our ATDML # Create FB page.
Have a fabulous weekend.

July Virtual Crop Challenge

Hello Scrapbookers and welcome to your July Mood Board challenge ahead of virtual crop day tomorrow. Many of you will be thinking about or off on your holidays soon so this board is for you. Where do you dream of going? Have you been there? are you planning a trip?
The wood and outdoors pictures from this board open up many images you can scrap and you can include bird elements and leaf/branch punches too.  I love the distressed inky feel of the bottom right image and I also like the idea of using the block design with a circle feature of the board itself. Lots of ideas there for you, simply look at the image and be inspired to create.

Look forward to seeing your challenge pages in our Mood board gallery and welcoming you back tomorrow for our Virtual crop day with classes starting at 10am - all free of charge. Come back and follow the link to instructions and images to create and inspire!

June Virtual Crop Challenge

You can't fail to be cheery with this month's mood board, time to get our happy scrappy on! Yes it is the night before the June virtual crop and we are asking you to be inspired by our June Mood board.

Those of you with Silhouette's or other die-cutting machines could have a field day with this one and the font image! Or do you have birthday photos to scrap of cake or balloons? Maybe you have photos from summer ice-creams or a large floral paper you have been waiting to use... I even really like the washi tape feel to the bottom of the board, did you see that before I mentioned it?

We look forward to seeing your creations shared on our gallery.

May Virtual Crop Challenge

Evening Scrapbookers on the night before our May Virtual Crop which can only mean time for another Mood Board inspiration challenge .What do you see when you look at this? Where do you get inspired and how will it translate to a layout?

Will you be inspired by the top left box containing the lacy overlay of a print not too dissimilar to damask, or the next image along of a garden - will this inspire you to scrap a photo or your garden or the Chelsea Flower show or another horticultural event? There are frames in the right middle image as well as bricks, a repeating pattern in the centre and stripes in the bottom right; all of these could inspire a page.  Alternatively you could be inspired by the green colours with the hint of teal and grey.

For the mood board challenge, simply look at the board and let it inspire your layout, then share with us in our Facebook Mood board gallery

Tomorrow we will be back as always on the third Saturday of the month with classes at 10am, noon and 2pm, and of course some virtual crop chatter. See you then.

April Virtual Crop challenge

Welcome back to another Mood Board inspiration challenge ahead of our monthly virtual Crop day tomorrow, which starts right here at 10am.

This month the mood board colours are so deliciously contrasting - doesn't it just make you want to bust out your holiday photos? Bright sunny yellow contrasted with turquoise there are a tonne of textures featured on the mood board this month that I am thinking inks, and paints and splats and layering? Or is that just me. What do you see when you look at this? Where do you get inspired and how will it translate to a layout?  You could stick with the 9 grid format of the board itself, the images, the colours... plenty to take your inspiration from.

I used this board to inspire the following page which ended up with no inks and splats after my initial thought!

I hope the mood board or my layout above encourage you to join in this challenge. Take a look here at our Facebook gallery here for the Mood boards so far this year and the pages inspired by them - it is really interesting to see where the same board takes different people and we had a few who joined in with these challenges at our retreat last weekend.

If you take part this month we would love for you to share your pages in our Facebook group Mood Board gallery adding the month and your name so we can give credit where due and share our favourites ahead of next month's virtual crop.

See you back here tomorrow at 10am for your first April Virtual crop class.

March Virtual Crop Challenge

It's Virtual crop weekend again (YAY!) so welcome to your March Mood Board inspiration challenge ahead of our Virtual Crop day tomorrow.

This month the mood board colours are fresh and spring like in soft pinks and aqua with a hint of grey.  There are flowers (feature those on your page), a wheel (circle layout element/design maybe), hanging lanterns or will you just stick with the colour scheme to inspire your spring page? There is plenty to take your inspiration from including the layout of the mood board itself if you fancy creating a more graphic/block feeling page which is where I went with my layout.

Here is my page where I also stick to the pinks/aqua colours of this board to scrap some pbotos of my daughter and I atathe statue of liberty lastvyear.

I hope you will join in this challenge and if you haven't had a go at the January and February mood boards yet you can find them by clicking on the underlined hyperlink. These are a great way of kick starting your creative process and it is really interesting to see the variety of layouts inspired by the same board.

If you do take part this month in our March Mood Board challenge why not share your pages in our Facebook group Mood Board gallery adding the month and your name so we can give credit where due and share our favourites ahead of next month's virtual crop.

See you back here tomorrow at 10am for your first Virtual crop class for March 2018.

February Virtual crop challenge

Welcome back to another Mood Board inspiration challenge ahead of your February Virtual Crop day tomorrow.

This month the mood board colours are shades of blues accented with brown. There are lots of hearts in the images including book print ones, plus a doiley, a suitcase (so maybe travel inspiration there?), plus trees/bark (outdoors), frames... lots to take your inspiration from.

I used this board to inspire the following page with a woodgrain background inspired by the trees, hearts, the colours and a doiley as well as book print leaves.

I hope you will join in this challenge. Take a look here at last month's if you missed it as well. These are a great way of kick starting your creative process and it is really interesting to see where the same board takes different people. Share your pages in our Facebook group Mood Board gallery adding the month and your name so we can give credit where due and share our favourites ahead of next month's virtual crop.

See you back here tomorrow at 10am for your first February Virtual crop class.

January virtual crop challenge

Welcome to your Friday night January virtual crop challenge ahead of our virtual crop day tomorrow featuring 3 classes for you to download from your design team.

For 2018 virtual crop challenges we are going to use mood boards to inspire a layout or craft project each month. I chose the following mood board for January as I felt it was neutral enough to inspire scrapping photos from this time of year.

I used the colours of the boards greys, soft blue and pale pink to inspire this page where I featured a photo of my daughter (in a woolly hat - inspired by the wool jumper) and I, the snowflakes (weather related like the cloud on the mood board) and lots of gems (inspired from those featured on the shoes).

Our challenge today is for you to take a look at the mood board and see where it takes yours creativity, then share your page on our 2018 mood board gallery with the month of the board and your name.  We will share our favourites ahead of next months virtual crop.

See you tomorrow for your first class at 10am with Karen.

May Virtual Crop - Class 3 with Mel using Shimelle Go Now Go

Welcome to the last class of the day.

My class uses the fantastic Go Now Go papers from Shimelle and American Crafts. It is a great travel line but as always it is fun to see what you can do with it beyond the original theme.

My class has FOUR layouts (I have been busy!) and two are very definitely travel themed but the other two are not so hopefully there is something in there for everyone!

Here are two of the four layouts - one travel themed one not, Click Here to go and download the instructions and see the rest of the layouts!

Have a lovely weekend everyone and don't forget to ask any questions, comment or share your work over on the ATDML # Create Facebook page.

Welcome to the last class of todays virtual crop.

For this class I created two layouts using the lovely "On Trend 2" papers from My Minds Eye. The photos do not show the foiling very well but in real life the gold accents add a bit of sparkle and shine to the pages.

Jan Virtual Crop Class 1 with Mel

Hello and a great big WELCOME to the first Virtual Crop of 2017. I hope you enjoyed the challenge set for you last night, I am sure it got the creative cogs turning ready for a weekend of scrapping!

My class kit was issued long before we had the cold snap but for those of you who had lots of snow (or even just a little but enough to get a photo of it!) this will be perfect. I on the other hand used old snow pictures for my first two layouts and my third, non snowy, layout is the only one with recent photos!

As always full instructions can be found HERE on the website. Please do share your creations and ask any questions or make any comments over on the ATDML # Create Facebook page.

Join us again at 12 when Ann will be bringing you the second class of the day.

September Virtual Crop Challenge

Welcome to another virtual crop day with your design team and of course we start with a challenge before your first class at 10am.

On this day in music history, on September 17th 1983, Paul Young scored his first UK No.1 album with his debut release 'No Parlez.' The album returned to the top of the charts on four other occasion's spending a total of 119 weeks on the chart.

Your challenge today, based on this piece of music trivia, is to scrapbook a photo of yourself when you were young.

I am so looking forward to seeing your shared pages for this one! Be brave and share!
Your first class of the day is up at 10am.
