December Virtual Crop - Katherine with Websters Pages Royal Christmas

Hello everyone and wishing you and your families all a super Christmas.

I've made 3 pages with the kit for you (here is the first) - all quite straight forward as it's a busy time of year....you can add some flicks of paint if you wish but it is totally optional.  The pages are all made from a 6" pad so could easily be adapted to a non-Christmas theme too - even the holly wreath...think flowers or stars or gears - the possibilities are endless!

I hope you enjoy creating, do as always share your creations over on our Facebook page ATDML#Create as we would love to see them.

Merry Christmas.

December Virtual Crop class by Karen Leahy

Happy December everyone and I hope all of your preparations are well in hand and that you are taking time to just enjoy December as well as planning madly.

I am so pleased to bring you a class this month with the gorgeous Graphic 45 Christmas Magic Collection. The papers are such fabulous quality and totally lush so get those scissors at the ready (you know me - there will almost always be some fussy cutting) and I hope you enjoy the class. There are three layouts in the class and this is just one of them.

Click Here for your full instructions and the other two layouts

Come back at 12pm and 2pm for our other two festive classes and don't forget to pop over to the ATDML # Create Facebook page to share what you have been up to.

November Virtual Crop Class by Ann

Afternoon my lovelies.

Virtual crop day for November comes to you with a spooky pair of pages from me so hopefully you have some suitable photos - if not, pop on a daft mask like I did with some friends!

I am sure you will have a great fun with these graphic style pages, the instructions for which can be found here.

Come back at 2pm for our third and final virtual crop class today.

November Virtual Crop Class by Karen

Welcome to my class this morning which I hope you will enjoy as it focuses on using gorgeous
6" x 6" papers which are so versatile.

I have two very different pages for you, but there will be plenty left for you to create at least two additional pages

The papers are American Crafts and they are just beautiful and, along with a really versatile sticker sheet they lend themselves to all sorts of different pages.

This is one of the class examples.

and you will find full instruction here, as always.

I can't wait to see what you make for this class. Come back at midday for Ann's somewhat spooky class!

October virtual crop by Tricia

Although I do love summer (for that one day we get in Scotland), Autumn is my favourite time of year.  unfortunately we can't always bank on the weather.

The Bo Bunny 'Beautifully Brisk' range has a lovely mix of beautiful autumnal shades and prints perfect for the rainy days when they come.  We've teamed them up with some matching brads and Studio calico alphas to finish it off.

I wanted to create 2 pages that make the most of layering tonal shades and same prints to give the feeling of hanging leaves and lashing rain.

Don't forget to share your version of the pages you create in our Facebook group ATDML # Create.

Katherine October Virtual Crop with Marion Smith's Nirvana

Hello everyone, here is my class using the beautiful Marion Smith Nirvana papers alongside.  I've created 2 pages using lots of the elements from the papers and some beautiful rub ons for the title, distressing the edges and inking to give a shabby chic feel to the pages.  The papers are perfect for the men in your life and the colours are neutral with a splash of beautiful aqua.

Please hop over to the website to download the instructions and share any pages you create in our Facebook group ATDML # Create.

Then don't forget to come back at 2pm to see Tricia's class with an autumnal feel.

Summer Smiles

I was thrilled to be working with the gorgeous Bo Bunny Felicity papers again as they lend themselves so well to many different themes and have that all important fussy cutting element to them.

The class included three pages for you to make, of which this is just one.  And, if you are like me and a little afraid of mixed media - or if you love mixed media and like to include it - then this is a page I hope you are going to enjoy.

I hope you enjoy the class and I look forward to seeing what you make with the kit.

 Instructions can be found here.

Come back at noon to see what Katherine has been up to for her class and don't forget to stop by on the ATDML # Create Facebook page and share your creations.

VC Weekend Album Covers Challenge 7th Edition

Welcome back to the Album Covers Challenge, it's been a while but this month I chose to look at an iconic album from an artist who has been in the news locally as he finished his world tour with three gigs in Ipswich just up the road from me. Ed Sheeran's X (multiply) album was released in 2014 and remains one of the top 10 streamed albums of all time.

The simple bold design lends itself well to translating to a layout and I chose to take the X motif for my layout rather than the colour palette. Of course the layout needs a photo and embellishment so is not quite a clean graphic copy of the album but the X is the dominant design feature in this page.

I would love to see what you come up with using this very simple starting point for a layout. Don't forget to head over to the ATDML # Create facebook page for Virtual Crop day chat throughout the day and upload your take on this challenge to the album cover challenge to the gallery.

Come back at 10am for Ann's Class.

June 2019 Virtual Crop Class 3 with Mel

Hello and welcome to class three of this months virtual crop. My class uses the Say Cheese 3 collection from Simple Stories but although these are papers themed around Disney you could definitely amend the pages to suit non Disney photos - one of my layouts in non Disney themed.

All the instructions can be found here for the four layouts I made.

Don't forget to share your creations over on the ATDML # Create Facebook page.

Next month we won't be having a Virtual Crop, instead we have our summer bumper weekend of Cyber Crop fun! Write it in your diary to save the date 26th - 28th July 2019!

June Virtual crop class 2 with Tricia

Good Afternoon Campers

I hope you are enjoying the classes so far!

For my class, I'll be using the lovely pastel shades of the Pink fresh 'Simple and Sweet' range.  The mix of greens, blues, yellows and pinks can be combined in a variety of ways to suit both male and female subjects or a mix of the two.

In March I was lucky enough to head off to Japan for our honeymoon and even luckier to get there at the start of the cherry blossom season!

I used a mix of the pink shades of paper mixed with this fab die cut to create a page to compliment some photos of the sakura foods available.  Using a mix of the phrases and also the wooden stars, I added accents and dimensions to the page to create a feeling of the layers of 5-star petals.

For the second layout, I had this fab picture of my friend's children feeding the lambs at our local farm.  I used strips of the bluer tones hand in hand with the burnt orange of the MME 29th Street Market range to give warmer shades to the layout.  As it was farm photos I loved the gingham and floral accents and I couldn't resist creating halos of stars to draw attention to the title.

I hope you enjoy the class today and I can't wait to see you all sharing your variations on the ATDML facebook gallery.

June 2019 Virtual Crop Class One by Karen Leahy

Good morning everyone - Dolly here with another virtual crop class for you today.

I was thrilled to get to work with the gorgeous Websters Pages Growing Up Girl papers, along with some lush Bo Bunny and Alison Kreft.

I had fun creating three pages for you, with full instructions obviously, and at least one of them might take you out of your comfort zone as it might put you IN FRONT of the camera instead of behind it. However, panic not. As always there is total flexibility in what you scrap - though it would be lovely to see YOU in your pages.

These are two of the pages I have created for the class.

The first is a moment of silliness, but hey - scrapbooking should be about the fun things in life as well as the ordinary and the celebratory, right?

The second page is what I would call a classic for me. One photo, fussy cutting, pretty papers and colours and quite clean and simple.

The third page - well you will need to see it on the instructions.

I hope you enjoy the class and I can't wait to see what you come up with for this one.

Have a great Sunday everyone.

VC Weekend Album Covers Challenge Edition 6

Welcome to June's Album covers challenge, I can't believe this puts us at the half way point of our album covers challenge.

This month I was inspired by an album that reminded me of my teenage years. Much the same as the No Doubt album from February anything by Blur, regardless of the release date reminds me of my late teen and the Brit Pop years!

This album was released in 2000 and is a "Best of" compilation, it's album cover is clean and simple but also pays homage to the 1982 Queen album Hot Space

From both of these albums I took the grid of four design. The rounded font on the blur album reminded me of some silver thickers I had so I went ahead and used those over the grid of four photos on my layout. They are however a total pain to photograph so for clarity, all the lettering is the same silver font.

This will probably be the simplest layout I put together all year - four 5" photos with the edges inked, white cardstock and on top of that the acetate cover from a pack of Vicki Boutin Mixed Media paper and some thickers!

I loved the colourfulness of both the album covers and so I mirrored that by choosing these photos of graffiti at the East Side Gallery that Isabelle took on her trip to Berlin this year.

I do love a grid although I more frequently use a grid of 9, 16 or even 25 but I was reminded of a layout I did a while ago with a grid of 4 which I am adding below for a more visually calm example if the graffiti and the colourful acetate background is not your thing!

May Virtual Crop Class 2 with Mel

Hello and welcome to class two from todays Virtual Crop. This month I challenged myself to work with the Graphic 45 Flutter collection. Graphic 45 and me are not natural bedfellows, I admire the things other people make with it, I often love a couple of the patterns but I struggle to make it fit with my style. However, I really liked some of the florals in this collection and the bold colours were right up my street so I threw caution to the wind and signed myself up for this kit!

I made three layouts and am really pleased with the outcome. For this class I made a basic sketch and then altered it three ways to get my three layouts.

Click Here for the sketch and full instructions

Here are two of the layouts...

Don't forget to share your creations over on the ATDML # Create Facebook page and join us at 2pm for our final class of the day with Debbie.

May Virtual Crop Class 1 with Katherine

Hello everyone, here is my painty, messy class using distress inks and a large chipboard alphabet.  We will be making 3 pages with the papers from Party Time and Happy by Websters Pages.  Even though Party Time is birthday themed I've made lots of travel pages, so they are pretty adaptable.

In this one we look at layering an inky effects on alphabets as well as a bit of water colour painting to bring the page together.

In this one there is a template to create the sun and clouds - you don't need a silhouette but will need a craft knife or good pair of scissors.

In this page I use the waste from the chipboard alphabet to create a background and pull together all the yellows and greens that are in the papers.

I hope you enjoy creating them.

April Virtual Crop Class 3 with Mel

This month I used the lovely Patio Party to make my class layouts, the bright sunny florals seem to have come at just the right time as we enjoy beautiful weather over the Easter weekend..

Instructions can be found HERE. There is plenty left over in the kit to make a third layout and I would love to see what you do with your pages, do come over to the ATDML # Create Facebook page and share your creations.

April Virtual Crop Class with Ann

My class today features a wedding themed layout (though the kit allows you to go for a more generic general love theme if preferred) where I added a little flicked paint to the white cardstock background to break up what would otherwise be quite a basic, graphic page but this is entirely optional.

I also made a mini book to house all the lovely retreat photos I would have from our weekend away and to make the most of the beautiful Ephemera pack pieces in the kit.

As always we would love to see what you make with your class kit so please share with us.

Your instructions for these projects can be found HERE and I hope you enjoy making them.
Happy Easter to you all, and enjoy virtual crop day x

April Virtual Crop Class 1 with Karen

I am so pleased to bring you a class using the gorgeous Bo Bunny Felicity papers which include some wonderful vellum too. And there is a sheet of gorgeous white rub on letters too.

The papers are wonderfully fresh and they lend themselves to come fussy cutting too.

There are three layouts in the class and, as always, you will utilise some clever cutting to make the most of the papers in the kit.

This is the first layout

I love that the papers will work with any theme. I used them to complete pages for my Paris album, focusing on Versailles, but they will work for so many different things.

This is the second page

and this is the third

I so hope you enjoy the class you can find the instructions here and can't wait to see your pages, do pop over to the ATDML # Create Facebook Page and share your creations there.

Join us at midday for Ann's mini book class.

Virtual Crop Weekend Challenge - Album Covers Edition 4

Hello and welcome to the April edition of our Album Covers challenge.

As this is posted I am at the retreat so I am scheduling this post in advance.

For this month I chose the untitled album from Blink 182 released in late 2003. I loved the modern pop art style and zingy high contrast colour palette.

For the layout I wanted to stick pretty close to the origianl design substituting a photo in place of the smiley face and bringing the smaller circle (face outline) down a little to allow my title and embellishments to feel connected rather than floating apart. Initially I was going to replicate the black title on cream wonky cut card pieces but I found a title in a perfect colour to work with my photo and caved in and used that!

I used inks to create the blocks of colour and added drips of the pink and black.

I cut the circles and arrows on my silhouette but if you wanted to recreate this but didn't have an electronic die cutter you could replicate this with a manual circle cutter or even draw round something circular and use a thick tipped pen to create the circle.

I found the suitcase and globe in my Paige Evans Horizon stash and the title was from the Horizon puffy thickers sheet.

I hope you enjoyed this months album cover challenge, do head over to our Facebook Group ATDML # Create this weekend for the Virtual Crop on Sunday and if you have a go at the Album Challenge do upload your layout to the Album Challenge Gallery.
