Cybercrop Bingo Challenge Winner

Next up in our challenge winners from our recent cybercrop is the winner of the bingo challenge.

Scrapbookers were asked to pick a line from the film themed grid about and to include those elements on their page.

Lots of entries into this challenge but the wheel of fortune only landed on the one name - congratulations Karen Parkhurst who made this gorgeous page which was very popular with fellow scrappers.

Well done Karen, please email jill@atripdownmemorylane.co.uk for your prize.
Keep posted for your next challenge winner!

Cybercrop Challenge winners

Hello lovely crafters and a big thank you to all of you who joined in our August film themed cybercrop. As you will know we had a splattering of challenges in amongst the classes and one pre-crop challenge.   Over the next few days week we will be sharing the winners who were all drawn at random from those who entered the challenge and shared their layouts in our Facebook galleries.

So without further ado lets see who our first winner is.  The pre-crop challenge was posted the night before the fun started along with our film trailer and our winner picked at random was Kathryn Booth.

Here is her lovely layout "The Claw is my Master".

Well done Kathryn. Please email jill@atripdownmemorylane.co.uk for your prize!
Tomorrow we will share the winner of the bingo challenge.

"Small Things Become Great When Done With Love" - August Project Life

Hello, hello lovelies - how can it be August already?

For this months project life page I wanted to show you how I used the same paper range as I used for last month's going big page for a going small page.

Apologies for the rubbish photo - it's always tricky to photograph project life pages when they are in their page protectors!

I love that the patterns on 6 x 6 paper pads are perfect for the small size of project life pockets.  All you need to do is add some ephemera and stickers from the same range and you have a stylish and simple page.

Challenge 6 - Twins (1988)

Your last challenge of the weekend based on the 1988 film Twins. For this challenge we want to see two photographs on your page, no more, no less.

Karen has illustrated for us below.

And here is another example from me.

Again the challenge remains open until midnight on Bank Holiday Monday 28th August to give you plenty of time to join in.  As always save your entries into the Challenge 6 gallery on Facebook to be in with a chance of winning a random prize from ATDML.

Class 18 with Ann - Up (2009)

How can you not love this film? Just brilliant from Disney Pixar and inspired my class layouts using the lovely Maggie Holmes Bloom papers.

My layouts feature photos and elements predominantly "UP" at top of the page and have interactive elements which lift "UP" hence my choice of film title for this class.

Download the class instructions here and I promise you this class is easy to create with your own papers if you didn't manage to score yourself a class kit,

This is sadly your last class of the weekend but hopefully we have given you plenty to inspire some scrapbooking and get those memories into albums. Please do share you class layouts in the Facebook gallery - it is always one of my favourite parts of the weekend looking back and seeing what people have been inspired to make.

One more challenge to come though...so not quite the end. See you at 5pm!

Class 17 - The Great Outdoors with Katherine

We are nearly there...and this class is using the BRAND NEW Cabin Fever papers from Simple Stories.  Even though they having camping in mind, they are beautiful for any outdoors shots, I love the Starry night and woodgrain papers in this kit.

I was inspired by the circle design on one of the papers for this page.

Here is a bonus layout - it is bonus because you may have to switch the papers around depending on how you've cut etc. the papers from earlier on - I do use most of the Starry Night paper, but you will definitely have enough paper to make it.

Only one more class left, remember to share all your creations with us - either link to you blog or pop them in our Facebook Album.

Challenge 5 - Star Wars (1977)

Well I thought I was young when the Pretty in Pink film came out, this one was release even earlier in 1977.

Challenge time again, and as you would expect from this film title we want to see your layouts feature stars. I have illustrated this below with a page I did for the gallery this time last year.

Another star inspired page from me to get you thinking - this one using strips of washi tape and paper to form a star shape as the feature of the page.

Again we ask you to save your completed layout in the challenge 5 gallery on Facebook once you have completed it and we could be selecting an entry at random to win a prize from Atdml.

Challenges will remain open until midnight on Bank Holiday Monday 28th August to give you plenty of time to join in.

Class 16 with Karen - The Notebook

I loved the name of this range of papers - Romance Novel Chapter 2 and what romantic film features a book - The Notebook of course.  This prompted my decision to make a mini album from this kit.

I have to say these papers rank highly in my Top Ten Ranges and I have used them before but absolutely adore the colours an patterns.  I saw the original of my mini album here and rather than reinvent the wheel, used this as the basis for my notebook.

Instructions for this class can be downloaded here.

There is another challenge at 2pm so check back in to see what Ann has in store for us.

Class 15 with Mel - Gridlocked

Hello and welcome to my third and final class of this cybercrop weekend. I hope you have enjoyed yourselves so far.

My last class is named after the (not very well known) film Gridlocked which appears to have been a vehicle for the man who played Wentworth Millers brother in Prison Break!

Layout one features a grid formation using different sized elements to create a block, it is a style I quite enjoy and have returned to in different forms over the years. It is also a good way to use a wide variety of patterns on your page while keeping them nicely contained!

The second layout in this class has absolutely nothing to do with grids and in complete contrast but I wanted to illustrate how the way you select elements from a collection can create quite contrasting looks.

Instructions can be found here

Don't forget to head over to the ATDML # Create Facebook group and share your creations. There are albums to share class layouts as well as individual albums for each of the challenges.

Happy Scrapping!

Class 14 with Debs - My Girl

Good Morning, how are we all doing on this fabulous weekend at the cinema? The 10 o'clock showing this morning features a film that will pull on your heartstrings - 'My Girl'

Hopefully this class won't leave you snivelling into your tissues though, as the title was inspired by the flowery feminine feel of the Simple Stories Hello Lovely range of papers and not its heart wrenching story line.
In this class we will explore creating pages using highly patterned papers without overshadowing the photograph on your layout.

Don't worry if you didn't manage to bag yourselves a kit in time, these designs can easily be adapted but I would challenge you to use a range of patterned papers.

Remember you can post photographs of any class layouts you create on our thread in the 2017 Cybercrop Classes Facebook album.
Looking forward to seeing your pages.
Debs x

Class 13 with Jane - The Queen

So we've reached class 13 - (good job 13 is my lucky number -well it's the date of my birthday)!  I was certainly lucky to be invited to a Royal garden party at Buckingham Palace this year so my next class is in honour of Her Majesty. This is a really simple book and I love the colour combination - a peachy pink the same colour as The Queen's dress, navy blues the same colour as my outfit and light blue the same colour as Kate's dress. I hope you are just as lucky with your photos!

Here's the front cover...

And some sneak peeks inside the book...

Instructions for the book can be found here...

I hope you will come back at 10am to join Debbie for class 14! Have fun!

Class 12 with Tricia - The Italian Job

It's no secret that I love to travel, some people love cars, some love handbags - I love boarding passes.  So this Summer when my friends decided to guarentee good weather for their wedding day by doing it in sunny Sorrento, it was an extra special reason to get up and go.

While we were there we extended the trip and checked another bucket list location by visiting Pompeii.  I grabbed this great photo of Jamie and Calum posing with parasols on the streets of Pompeii which works perfectly with the pink, blues and browns of Crate paper 'Craft Market' range.

In our house we live for tea, we've never been one for a cup of Joe.  However when you are in Naples we were assured you just have to try the coffee.  I snapped this great shot of Jamie 'enjoying' his espresso and teamed it with the coffee coloured paper in the range.

This is the last class of the day but pop back at 9am tomorrow for Jane's fabulous Graphic 45 class.

Challenge 4 - Pretty in Pink (1986)

Cannot believe I was just 15 when this film came out! I bet you can guess what the challenge is for this evening? Yep, you guessed it, dig out your pink supplies and get as pink as you like with this one.

Jane has illustrated our Pretty in Pink inspired challenge beautifully below.

Save your completed layout in the challenge 4 gallery on Facebook once you have completed it, we'd love to see your pages.  As with the previous challenges this will remain open until midnight on Bank Holiday Monday 28th August to give you plenty of time to join in.

Class 11 with Ann - Beaches (1988)

One of my favourite all time films that makes me cry almost by just thinking about it. What doesn't make me cry though is the gorgeous beach themed Kaisercraft Coastal Escape papers that came in the kit for this class. These went perfectly with my sandy Fuertaventura photos for my holiday earlier this month.

I created 3 pages from the kit, the instructions for which can be downloaded HERE.

Do share your pages from this class in our Cybercrop classes gallery on Facebook.

Next class is at 8pm with Tricia but another challenge will be posted at 6pm with a chance for you to grab some food before scrapping on in to the evening. Enjoy!!

Class 10 - A Grand Day Out with Katherine

For this class we are making a really quick and easy mini-book, I've adapted it a little bit so all the measurements are in inches, but it is a fab book for documenting a particular event, and a great one for a gift too.  All you need is some paper, a scoreboard and trimmer.

Here are a couple of photos of the inside of the book, but there are more in the class instructions.

I hope you are all enjoying the crop and getting involved in the challenges, I look forward to seeing what everyone creates.

Class 9 with Karen - My Fair Lady

As soon as I saw this Luxe Design Classic Black papers I thought they looked like fabric and I knew exactly what it reminded me of - the Ascot Race scene, from My Fair Lady, which featured gorgeous costumes designed by Cecil Beaton.

I wanted to try to recreate these fabulous designs on a scrapbook page so looked on Pinterest for paper folding ideas and found the one featured on my first page.  I then decided to add a bow, in keeping with the fabric and fashion feel I wanted to give to my page.

My second page utalises the remaining pretty papers from this range.  I used them to create a simple but bold page and added pops of pink.

Katherine is up at 4pm so we had better get our rubber gloves and aprons out ready it might be a messy one!

Challenge 3 - Beauty & The Beast (1991)

Another challenge for this afternoon, this time inspired by Beauty and the Beast we want you to pair two contrasting colours together on a page, after all opposites attract!

This challenge has been illustrated below by Karen. Think it was the colours of the yellow and blue which also caught Karen's eye for this challenge!

Save your completed layout in the challenge 3 gallery on Facebook once you have completed it and who knows, we may select a prize at random for a lucky participant.

Challenges will remain open until midnight on Bank Holiday Monday 28th August to give you plenty of time to join in.

Class 8 with Mel - The Color Purple

Hello, I hope everyone is enjoying the cybercrop so far, I am sure you will agree there have been some great classes so far and we are not even half way there yet!

My second class featured papers from the Beautiful Dreamer collection and in a wild departure for me there was a lot of purple, a colour I do not dislike but I rarely use. So the class is named for the colour palette although eagle eyed participants will notice that the third layout in this class has virtually no purple on it.

You can download the instructions for this class here on the ATDML website.

Be sure to visit the ATDML # Create Facebook page to join in the cybercrop chat and to share your creations with us, we all enjoy seeing the different interpretations of our classes.

Join us here again at 2pm for your next challenge and then again at 3pm for an elegant class by Karen.

Happy Scrapping!
