Kaleidscope colour....

Good morning everyone I wanted to share a couple of pages that I made for the Gallery using Vikki Boutin's Kaleidoscope collection - I love all the colour in these papers and they were really fun to use. I started with her Starburst paper and then cut some hearts from the Heart Paper - adding a little bit of stamping to them.  I also had a play with her watercolour stickers - they were great for adding little bits of paint to - so I could customise the words to particular colours.  A little bit of stencilling using the Tando mini distressed sequins stencil and some cracked pistachio distress oxide - I inked and then spritzed with water whilst the stencil was still on so the colour went  little more opaque.

I hand cut the little bird from one of the journal tags and added it on a few of the water colour stickers.

Here you can see the layers of stamping and the watercolour stickers in action.

The 2nd page I made with this collection started with some stencilling across the centre - I just used thick gesso for this, then I added some yellow, oranges and pinks - pulling out the colours from the Hearts paper and tilted my page to get drips of water colour paints.  I layered up lots of the journal tags behind my photo, adding in some more watercolour stickers.

For the title I had a play with this beautiful acrylic from Bramble Fox that you can get from ATDML - I backed it with some paper and just added it at the corner of the photo.

I hope these have coloured your morning!

June Colour Challenge

Hello ladies. Dolly here with a new colour swatch for you.
I have to confess this one is one of my favourites.

I often use this combo for Disney pages but it works well for all sorts of things. The example is certainly not Disney.

I hope you will find the swatch inspires you to make a page of your own and I can't wait to see what you do. If you make a page post it everywhere but do also pop it in the colour challenge gallery in our facebook group here so we can all enjoy it.

ATDML Alphabetical challenge L

Hello again and welcome to another alphabetical challenge - by now you will know the drill, take one or more of the prompts from the list below to kick-start your next page.

I can see this being a popular one as there are lots of ways this can inspire your creativity

I used a LOVE themed collection by Simple Stories for my page above and LINED paper and LAYERED my title elements over the journaling block using different LETTERING for my title. Do share with us in our Alphabetical Gallery your layouts inspired by these prompts.

June 2019 Virtual Crop Class 3 with Mel

Hello and welcome to class three of this months virtual crop. My class uses the Say Cheese 3 collection from Simple Stories but although these are papers themed around Disney you could definitely amend the pages to suit non Disney photos - one of my layouts in non Disney themed.

All the instructions can be found here for the four layouts I made.

Don't forget to share your creations over on the ATDML # Create Facebook page.

Next month we won't be having a Virtual Crop, instead we have our summer bumper weekend of Cyber Crop fun! Write it in your diary to save the date 26th - 28th July 2019!

June Virtual crop class 2 with Tricia

Good Afternoon Campers

I hope you are enjoying the classes so far!

For my class, I'll be using the lovely pastel shades of the Pink fresh 'Simple and Sweet' range.  The mix of greens, blues, yellows and pinks can be combined in a variety of ways to suit both male and female subjects or a mix of the two.

In March I was lucky enough to head off to Japan for our honeymoon and even luckier to get there at the start of the cherry blossom season!

I used a mix of the pink shades of paper mixed with this fab die cut to create a page to compliment some photos of the sakura foods available.  Using a mix of the phrases and also the wooden stars, I added accents and dimensions to the page to create a feeling of the layers of 5-star petals.

For the second layout, I had this fab picture of my friend's children feeding the lambs at our local farm.  I used strips of the bluer tones hand in hand with the burnt orange of the MME 29th Street Market range to give warmer shades to the layout.  As it was farm photos I loved the gingham and floral accents and I couldn't resist creating halos of stars to draw attention to the title.

I hope you enjoy the class today and I can't wait to see you all sharing your variations on the ATDML facebook gallery.

June 2019 Virtual Crop Class One by Karen Leahy

Good morning everyone - Dolly here with another virtual crop class for you today.

I was thrilled to get to work with the gorgeous Websters Pages Growing Up Girl papers, along with some lush Bo Bunny and Alison Kreft.

I had fun creating three pages for you, with full instructions obviously, and at least one of them might take you out of your comfort zone as it might put you IN FRONT of the camera instead of behind it. However, panic not. As always there is total flexibility in what you scrap - though it would be lovely to see YOU in your pages.

These are two of the pages I have created for the class.

The first is a moment of silliness, but hey - scrapbooking should be about the fun things in life as well as the ordinary and the celebratory, right?

The second page is what I would call a classic for me. One photo, fussy cutting, pretty papers and colours and quite clean and simple.

The third page - well you will need to see it on the instructions.

I hope you enjoy the class and I can't wait to see what you come up with for this one.

Have a great Sunday everyone.

VC Weekend Album Covers Challenge Edition 6

Welcome to June's Album covers challenge, I can't believe this puts us at the half way point of our album covers challenge.

This month I was inspired by an album that reminded me of my teenage years. Much the same as the No Doubt album from February anything by Blur, regardless of the release date reminds me of my late teen and the Brit Pop years!

This album was released in 2000 and is a "Best of" compilation, it's album cover is clean and simple but also pays homage to the 1982 Queen album Hot Space

From both of these albums I took the grid of four design. The rounded font on the blur album reminded me of some silver thickers I had so I went ahead and used those over the grid of four photos on my layout. They are however a total pain to photograph so for clarity, all the lettering is the same silver font.

This will probably be the simplest layout I put together all year - four 5" photos with the edges inked, white cardstock and on top of that the acetate cover from a pack of Vicki Boutin Mixed Media paper and some thickers!

I loved the colourfulness of both the album covers and so I mirrored that by choosing these photos of graffiti at the East Side Gallery that Isabelle took on her trip to Berlin this year.

I do love a grid although I more frequently use a grid of 9, 16 or even 25 but I was reminded of a layout I did a while ago with a grid of 4 which I am adding below for a more visually calm example if the graffiti and the colourful acetate background is not your thing!

ATDML Alphabetical challenge K

And we are already on the letter K for our twice monthly alphabetical challenge and your letter K prompts to help prompt your next paper craft project are as follows.

And I am fully aware I spelled Kaisercraft incorrectly in the above, but we'll gloss over that and look forward to being inspired to create from the list. I have illustrated the challenge with a Kaisercraft Blessed page of my Kids - how will you rise to the challenge??

Just pick one or more of the K prompts to start your next page and share your inspired creation with us on our Facebook group in the Alphabetical Gallery.
