From This to That - The September Edition

A quick, photo heavy. post featuring the very pretty Bo Bunny Sweet Moments range.

Jill always knows what suits the DT's style and always gets it bang on target when she send out my DT kit.

So this is what she sent me.

and this is what I made :0)

Together is a Wonderful Place To Be

Find Joy In Every Day

Sweet Life - Tell Your Story

Uniquely You

And because Jill and Mel are so generous with their DT kits I was also sent a selection from Bo Bunny's Firecracker range.

I used it, not for fireworks and 4th July as it was intended, but for a beach themed page!

{Hello Summer}

ATDML have lots of new stock in, including gorgeous Bo Bunny Christmas ranges.

BoBunny Take a Hike - Pingvellir

At the last retreat I took part in one of Mel's classes using large photos, so after my holiday this year I got a few printed as 8 by 12's.  It's nice using a large photo as it makes the photo the focal part, and then it is relatively quick to finish off the page afterwards as you just need to add a little bit of paper and a nice pile of embellishments.

I've used papers from BoBunny's Take a Hike collection - it is an outdoors range of papers so perfect for rural scenes of Iceland, I added a couple of strips to the side of my photo, and also some gold gelato - just to add a bit of paint!  I then layered up elements from the Noteworthy collection that co-ordinates with the papers as well as some of the stickers too, and then just raided my stash for the final bits.  For the title I used the BoBunny stickers...and then did a little bit of trimmage to make the p into the Icelandic letter, and just coloured in the join with a bit of brown so you can't see it!

September Virtual Crop Class 3 with Debs

This class was created as a prompt or inspiration to use those papers with a strong theme in an alternative way.  In this example I have used Simple Stories' beautiful baby themed papers to scrap photographs of a friendship and a teenager.

September Virtual Crop Class 2 with Mel

Hello all and welcome to the second class of the day. I hope you all enjoyed Janes lovely minibook, I am certain that with the huge number of holiday photos I have I could make use of a Summer Memories minibook right now!

My class includes four layouts (there was a lot of paper in the kit!) and I thoroughly enjoyed making these layouts. Full instructions for all four can be found HERE

Next up is Debbie this afternoon with the final class of the day.

September Virtual Crop Class 1 with Jane

Hello and welcome to your first class of the day. So this week many of us have been enjoying an Indian Summer with the mercury rising to dizzying heights, but I think we're all aware that now the summer is coming to a close and it's time to look back on a few months of (sometimes) sunshine, happy days and holidays before Autumn sets in.

So my mini-book project for you today is a simple Summer 2016 book with spaces to dedicate to the memories of each month from May to September. It uses the May to September 'montage' papers from the Children's Hour collection as well as an additional 'September montage' sheet and a 'November collective' sheet to make the covers. Add to this some chipboard and cream cardstock and you have all the ingredients for a easy to make mini book...

Instructions for the class can be found here. I hope you give this a go - either with the Graphic 45 papers or perhaps your own papers if you're not a G45 fan. Join us again at midday for another class, this time with Mel.

September Virtual Crop Challenge

Welcome to another virtual crop day with your design team and of course we start with a challenge before your first class at 10am.

On this day in music history, on September 17th 1983, Paul Young scored his first UK No.1 album with his debut release 'No Parlez.' The album returned to the top of the charts on four other occasion's spending a total of 119 weeks on the chart.

Your challenge today, based on this piece of music trivia, is to scrapbook a photo of yourself when you were young.

I am so looking forward to seeing your shared pages for this one! Be brave and share!
Your first class of the day is up at 10am.

Bending The Rules - Bo Bunny Firecracker

Hello, hello - Karen here and its Bo Bunny month this month so the DT have been sent some gorgeous Bo Bunny papers.  As you may or may not know one of our dt Katherine is actually on the Bo Bunny Design Team so I am really excited to see what she produces this month.

I have to confess that when Jill sent me a selection from the Firecracker range I thought 'As lovely as it is what am I going to do with a paper range all about fireworks and 4th July'?

Click on photo to see papers in more detail

BUT I then looked at it again and rethought as the blue wavy paper reminded me of the sea and the bright yellow paper of the beach.  So I decided to bend the rules and make a holiday/beach themed layout using this range.

I am a member of a Facebook group called Crafters@Play and every month they have a sketch challenge.  I used their sketch as my starting point for this layout.

I started by cutting my title from the centre of the Patriot paper and also a piece 4 ins x 10 ins (from the middle of the paper so that I still had the outer edge intact), trimmed 1/2 in from the top and one side and layered it onto some dark blue cardstock, I then trimmed the Stars paper and laid this on top.

From the Anthem paper I cut a 4 inch strip (making sure I wasn't using the pieces with the little boy and girl on) and punched the top, placing it across the centre of my page.  I cut the square with grey and white stripes and stars from the Parade paper and trimmed this so that I had one piece with stars on that was 3 in wide and one piece with just stripes on that was also 3 ins wide.  I placed these either side of the strip of Anthum. The 4 x 10 in piece of Patriot was then punched down one side and added to the left of the page, onto this I added a strip that had been cut from the stars paper.

Next I cut the little boy and girl from the Antham paper and added them to the bottom right of my page.

From the Parade paper I cut the large circle and as I wanted to cover up the rosette at the bottom cut a a circle from Anthem paper and a label from one of the squares on the Parade paper. To these I added three chipboard banners from the Button Pack.

After adding my photo I cut the bunting from the blue square on the Parade paper and added to the top right of my page.  Finally I added a few buttons from the button pack.

So there we have it - a beach page made from a paper range that definitely was not designed for summer beachy layouts.

September Photo Prompts

Hello Scrapbookers and hello September (my favourite month!)
Slight technical hitch with the photo prompts so they have been on Facebook but not here until now.
Enjoy!
