A June Tag...at last

So for me today... school's out for summer which means I finally get a chance to blog about my June tag...just in time before July tomorrow!
Here it is...
As usual you will need the two Graphic 45 Children's Hour papers for this month and a 4" x 8" tag made from any cardstock. You will also need: some florists' wire, green card, co-ordinating ribbons, a piece of thick card or chipboard and a leaf/frond punch.

Start by colouring the florist wire green - I used distress ink..,.
Set the wire aside to dry and begin covering your tag. I covered the whole tag with paper from the bottom left of the June montage paper - I drew round the tag then cut it out and stuck the paper on...

I then inked the edges of the tag and stuck a piece of thick card to the right hand side of the tag to raise up the panel I planned on sticking on (you could just use foam pads but I find this method quicker!)...

Next I cut the panel from the June Collective paper (cutting round the flowers) I stuck it on to green card to give a thin border and add strength...
I cut the border round the panel - I also cut the 'Oh what a beautiful day' sentiment and the little girl holding a bouquet (also from the Collective paper)...
I added the panel and the sentiment to my tag...

Next I used hot glue to attach the green wires to the bottom left of my tag...

I then hid this by sticking the bouquet holding girl over it... I then watched some TV and cut out a load of flowers and leaves and punched some fronds using my Martha Stewart frond punch...

I stuck the flowers and leaves onto my tag - some to the wires with my hot glue gun (though glossy accents also works well for this) and some to the tag using foam pads...

Here are some close ups...

I punched a hole and added my ribbons and the tag was done!

I hope you give this a go - It's my favourite tag so far.
Happy crafting and enjoy July!

Bo Bunny - Butterfly Kisses.

Hello, Karen here and I have a little tutorial using Bo Bunny - Butterfly Kisses.  Now I must confess that I bought this paper to use for the class at my crop and this tutorial is part of a series we are doing which is a mini-project life.  Every month we scrap five photos from the previous month and by the end of the year we will have an album which is a snapshot of 2016.  That is why the title of this page is June, We scrap one large photo on the left of a pair of pages and four smaller photos on the right.

To make this page you will need:-

  • Bo Bunny Butterfly Kisses - Petals
  • Bo Bunny Butterfly Kisses - Springtime
  • Bo Bunny Butterfly Kisses - Joy
  • Bo Bunny Butterfly Kisses - Delight
  • White Bazzill Smoothie
  • A couple of pages from an old book
  • 4 large white pearls
  • A white doily
  • White letter stickers - die cut title
You will also need punches/dies to cut the flowers and leaves.

Photo requirement – one 5in square photo

To Make Your Page

1. Cut ½ inch from the top and left of your ‘Petals’

2. Stick the large piece of ‘Petals’ paper to the centre of your pieces of white cardstock.

3. Cut the shaped piece from the left side of the ‘Springtime’ paper and adhere to the left of your page.

4. The doily is placed ¼ in from top of your page and 1 ¼ ins from left.

5. Cut a piece of ‘Joy’ 7 ins square and a piece of ‘Springtime’ 6 ins square.

6. The 7in square is adhered 1 ½ ins from right and 2 ½ ins from bottom and the 6 ins square is adhered in the centre of that.

7. From the book paper cut 4 sets of flowers, from the green side of the ‘Springtime’ cut 12 leaves and from the purple side of ‘Springtime cut 4 flower centres.

8. Assemble your flowers and one is placed at the top left on the doily and three are placed at the bottom right of your page. Add your leaves.

9. Cut three butterflies from the small squares on the ‘Delight’ paper and add to your flower clusters.

June Virtual Crop - Class 3 by Mel Hand

Welcome to the last class of the day for the June Virtual Crop. I hope you have all enjoyed Karen and Ann's projects and the challenge from this morning!

My class used the Crate Paper Confetti collection and I have focused on layering and clustering embellishments to give a layout with lots to look at.

The class has two layouts, the first is shown below (you will have to visit the site and download the instructions to see layout 2!)

As always full and free downloadable class instructions are available HERE

We would love to see your take on this or any of the other classes and challenges over on the
ATDML # Create Facebook page.

June Virtual Crop - Class 2 with Ann

Welcome to your second class of the day with yours truly. You should be able to change up the photo sizes on my classes quite easily so don't worry if you don't have the sizes listed on the blog post earlier in the week.

You also don't have to have purchased a class kit to take this class. Simply download the instructions and replicate with your own papers using layout images and paper size measurements to assist.  I've tried to guide you in this best I can.

Your free class instructions for the three layouts I created this month can be found HERE

Enjoy and don't forget to share your pages if you do the class. Pop back here at 2pm for links to your next class from Mel.

June Virtual Crop - Class 1 with Karen

Hello there you lovely virtual croppers, how can it be June already? Where has half the year gone?

I am up first this month with a four page class using Simple Stories - So Fancy.  Now everyone who knows me knows that I like pink and sparkly so with all the pastel colours, gold accents and sequins in this kit it was right up my street.

Layout 1 is a fairly quick layout with a little bit of cutting out.

Layout 2 lets a piece of patterned paper do most of the work in creating this page.

Layout 3 is another fairly quick page and has gold sequins added to the lovely spotty paper.

Layout 4 uses the remains of the kit to make a page with lots of little cut out elements.

As always, we really look forward to seeing what you make and make sure you pop back at 12 noon to see what Ann has been up to.

June 2016 Virtual Crop Challenge

Happy Virtual Crop day to you all, time to kick start our day of creativity with a challenge, which, as always is based on this day in music history.

Oh how I wish I was leaving on a jet plane today, but then I'd miss the challenge and classes coming up at 10am, noon and 2pm!! So instead I will see if I too can join in this weekend with this month's challenge which is to create a travel themed page, inspired by the music fact above!

Share your pages if you will with either a link below to your online gallery or via uploading them to our ATDML #Create Facebook page. Don't forget to pop back here at 10am for your first class.of the day with Karen. Enjoy!

Kaisercraft and Copper Tape

Here is a page that  I made with the beautiful Kaisercraft Story Book which you can find here and I had a go at  technique originally taught by Jane and then using copper tape (I love it) by Mel at the last retreat.

I started my page with some torn layers, and then made my photo mounts - again lots of distressing and tearing.  I did do a little bit of stamping too on the craft cardstock using the Kaisercraft grid stamp and some tea dye distress ink.  I used several pieces from the collectables pack that go with this collection - so the tags, and clocks and little frames with words.  I also used one of the webster pages trinkets and put a little copper star in that and backed it with a tiny off cut of the Story Book papers.

For my alphabet I covered a small strip of cardstock in the copper tape, then die cut my letters, embossed them and added some brown paint and rub it off with a cloth after it's dried a bit - it's a super technique!

A little bit more Websters Pages Painted Passport

I hope you've had a look at the gallery as there is loads of inspiration there...here is the link.

I made this page using Websters Pages Painted Passport - I went for a really simple colour combination - which was mostly inspired by the foiled washi tape Jill had put in the kit.  I am enjoying splatters at the moment, so added lots of those using watered down white gesso.  I also added in a few strips of Teresa Collins' Glam Factor collection - just a little bit of those papers goes a long way - as the gold tied in.  I used a few of the little stickers that you get in the Websters collection to tie in with my photos, and created a cluster with a punched heart, the ends of the threads and some Teresa Collins brads.  I used a mix of alphabets - the smaller woodgrain one being by Websters Pages and the gold one is Pink Paislee.

May Show and Tell

Hello, hello lovely ATDMLers - Karen here with a quick post about the lovely Websters Pages that we were given to work with this month.

First up is Katherine, with her gorgeous page which is so typical of Katherine's style - very splattered and distressed - again I applaud Mel and Jill for having designers whose style covers the whole gambit of scrapbooking styles. Now thinking I will do a blog post about that later in the month!
Katherine used Webster's Pages - Painted Passport

Ann prettied up a container for her nail care kit using Webster's Pages - 'Make A Wish'

And finally, my favourite layout was the last one I made from the last bits left over from my kit which, like Ann the range I used was Websters Pages  'Make A Wish' which only came out last month so brand spanking new if you have any Birthday/Celebrations to scrap!

If you would like to see more inspiration please pop on over to the gallery.

Will be back later in the month with the promised post about all our different scrapbooking styles x
