Bo Bunny - Love & Lace. Mini Album

We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary recently, just about the time I received my DT kit from Jill.  When I saw the Bo Bunny Love and Lace collection I knew it would be perfect for making a little album to put some of our photos in.  A little reminder of happy times spent together.

It was very easy to make - I used a pre-designed Silhouette file (check it out on my blog).

Products used:
1 piece of red and 1 piece of black cardstock.

Take Time with Bo Bunny Secret Garden

Hello, hello - Karen here with a quick page I made using Bo Bunny Secret Garden.

When I saw the papers that Jill sent me this month I was delighted as they were all shades of purple, which I love. I knew when I saw the circle paper that I wanted to make a Silhouette cutting file to use with it.  I made the cut circles correspond with the size of the printed circles on the paper and originally had them going from top to bottom but didn't like it.  As soon as I turned it so the circles were horizontal my opinion changed.  I have to admit that I like horizontal lines better than vertical ones.

All that needed to be added to the page were a few stickers and buttons, a photo and some gems.  A quick page from two pieces of card, one sheet of paper, the button pack and sticker sheet.

We're going places with Simple Stories

I love this map paper from the new Simple Stories You are Here papers.  We are embarking on an exciting holiday this summer so I thought this could be the start page to my album and I used it to mark on some of the places we will visit along with a shot of all the books we are looking at and getting ideas from.  I love that the colours of this range and summer vibes work really well together and you can mix and match bits in so easily.

March 2016 Virtual Crop - Class 3 - Katherine Sutton

Welcome to the 3rd class of the day, using the beautiful Crate Paper Confetti papers and some pockets too.  We make 3 pages, I do cut the paper sparingly to achieve this, but it is possible.  There is also a messy page in the middle if you would like to have a go at that using gesso and yellow water colour ink or yellow distress ink - though you could change the colour to fit with the photo as the papers are fairly neutral.  The final page uses up all the other bits of paper and has lots of little photos.

Do share your photos with us in Facebook group as we love to see them.

March 2016 Virtual Crop - Class 2 with Jane

Hello everyone...I'm back with another Graphic 45 project and if you got the By the Sea kit you can copy my book exactly...or do your own twist on it. But even if you're playing along with your own papers you can make a version of this book because it's more about the construction rather than the papers really. This was inspired by the folio albums now available from Tim Holtz - but they are quite pricey so I thought - I'll make my own version!
The finished book (minus photos) looks like this...

But I think you might get a better impression of the book by seeing it in action so here's a quick video of it...

Instructions can be found  HERE, download for free and off you go!.

Katherine is up next at 2pm with your third class of the day. Happy crafting!

March 2016 Virtual Crop - Class 1 with Mel Hand

Good morning, I hope you have all been enjoying Ann's Fab Four challenge :)

First class of the day is with me. I loved the papers in this class, the colours are lovely and the gold foiled elements add a little bit of sparkle without being too over powering. I really enjoyed making these layouts so I hope you also enjoy the class.

As always, free downloadable instructions for the layouts can be found here.

Join us for the next class which is a fantastic mini album with Jane at midday.

'Mad March' Tag

It's Mad March because there's just so much going on... virtual crop coming up ...two retreat classes under construction and now a tag ...that's four lots of Graphic 45 loveliness for you all!! As before the tag uses the two pages from the Children's Hour collection that are dedicated to the current month...March. As before the tag is a 4" x 8" piece of card with the top corners chopped off and the bottom corners rounded...
In addition to this I used some white card, dusty concord distress ink and some co-ordinating ribbon.

I started by covering the whole tag with the purple paper (choosing a bit that didn't mean I lost features on the other side that I might later want. I inked the edges with the purple distress ink and also inked a bit near the top of the tag which I knew would be behind and above my decoration...

Next I cut out the green strip which features small white flowers and glued this vertically to the left hand side of the tag...
I used a spellbinders die to cut out a white scalloped circle - you could cut this freehand, use a plain circle, a doily or whatever you like. I damaged my die cut getting it out of the die, but I knew that part would be hidden so I didn't worry too much...
Next I cut the boy and girl out from the postcard paper and glued them onto the circle...
I then spent some time cutting out other elements that I wanted to add - more of the pansies, the 'Hello spring' banner. I started to add more flowers round the children, using foam pads to raise them up... note that I crinkled the 'hello' banner a little to give it some dimension. I later decided to add a bit of the purple clover strip beneath it (you might want to add this first!!)
...I lifted the 'hello' banner and added the purple strip, added even more flowers on foam pads, added a couple of the cut out little birds and then tied on some green, purple, yellow and white ribbon...

Of course you could stop here, but I decided it still wasn't quite finished so I got out my leaf frond and butterfly punches and added some butterflies and leaves to give an even more 'spring-like' feel to the tag. Here are some close-ups and the finished tag...

If you have a go at making some Children's Hour tags do please share them here or on the ATDML Facebook page.
Happy crafting.
Jane
