I was uploading my pages to the March DT Gallery this morning and I was struck by how diverse our pages are. Mel and Jill have picked a team of designers who each bring something fresh and new to their work. I think it is safe to say that if given the same dt kit we would all produce something completely different and in some cases (Katherine) it wouldn't even look like the same paper range.
I chose my favourite one from Ann which perfectly showcases her clean and sophisticated style.
My favourite one from Katherine - a perfect example of her talent with paint and distressing
And finally one from me which illustrates my - throw it all on the page and if there is room throw a little bit more on - style.
Why don't you pop over to the gallery to see the pages that have been uploaded. I would recommend you have another look in a week or so as the gallery is always evolving as new pages are added.

Adding a bit of colour
Mel and Jill sent me the beautiful Hello Today papers by Kaisercraft, these papers are fairly neutral in colour - black, white a little bit of yellow - there are no strong colours in the papers - which makes them really great for adding a splash of colour.
For this page I started with some distress stains - scattered straw and dried marigold, then added a light brown mist, which adds shimmer more than anything to the background. I then used stencils and stamps with orange and black inks. After that I started layering the papers and also a muslin square. I used the papers as a neutral colour for my photo so that the orange on my sons top would then stand out. There are also lots of beautiful stickers with great phrases in the range that you can layer up on foam dots.
I've enjoyed playing with these papers and using them as a base to add colour with other offcuts of paper I've had in my stash, they are a great starting point.

March Virtual Crop Class 3 - By Debs Jewell
Hi all, hope you're having a blissfully happy day scrapping.
For this class we're looking at ways to make your patterned papers work for you. So often we're put off papers with journalling elements because they don't fit the theme of our photo's. The way round this is to simply cut them out and replace with something that fits your layout theme, as we'll do with the banner in this class' layout example.
The other aspect I considered in designing this page is the colour options, I loved the frames but wanted to limit the amount of black on my page. Gutting the frames and replacing the inners with patterned papers added colour on the page and draws the eye to the photographs.

We hope you have enjoyed this months Virtual Crop and we look forward to seeing you share your projects with us over on the ATDML # Create facebook page.

March Virtual Crop
Hello and welcome to another virtual crop. I've made 3 pages with my Sprinkled with Love kit. The first is a different way to use your journalling/project life style cards with lots of layering.
For my next page just a little bit of paint, the heart template is in with the instructions.
For my third page dig out your old folder dividers and use them as templates for a tab page.
I hope you enjoy them all. Do post your creations on our Facebook page or link them into the comments as I would love to see your pages.

Don't forget to come back at noon for Karen's class!
March Virtual Crop Challenge
Hello on this our March Virtual crop day. We have a challenge and three classes for you today to enjoy at your own pace when you are feeling crafty, be that today, this weekend or some other time :)
If you are joining in today and are a member of our Facebook page ATDML # Create do pop by and chat along in the virtual crop thread where other scrapbookers joining in and a few of the design team will be to say hello.
So our challenge for today is as always based on a date in history. 21st March 1413 was the day King Henry V became King of England. He wasn't crowned King however until April 9th at Westminster Abbey so no crowns for this right royal challenge. Instead we'd like to see 5 different patterned papers used on your layout or card (as he was the 5th King Henry) Easy enough eh?
We look forward to seeing your challenge projects in our virtual crop gallery on Facebook, or do leave us a comment below with a link to your project.
We will be back here at 10am with your first class of the day. See you then.

adapted to suit styles. I cut some of the
wording out on the Silhouette and used a couple of small words I had in my stash and used a vellum 'Hello' quote.

Celebrate with Kaisercraft
I have wanted to create another layout incorporating triangles for a while now and it is a great way to use photos that might not be all that wonderful and need cropping down. This was a fairly quick page to pull together using a 2" square punch to select a number of photos and then cutting some of these in half on the diagonal. I made a template from a piece of black card that covered half the punch and then turning it upside down helps to gage what parts of the photo will be seen. I then made up the other half of the square with a further triangle of patterned paper (punching a 2" square and cutting in half again).
The title was cut on my silhouette (from the silhouette library) but you could easily replace with a hand-cut title or use of letter stickers.
Paper used on this page are Kaisercraft Mix & Match available HERE and this page along with others can be found in the March DT gallery HERE which will be added to throughout the month by the Design Team.
Happy crafting!

Family Tradition
As I got married on my birthday (my farther insisted it was just sneaky way to get a another birthday party out of him) it is a very special day. We always do something as a family on the birthday/anniversary day and Gracia has, without fail, come home for the nearest weekend to keep up with the tradition. One thing we always enjoy is to going for a long family walk, followed by lunch and this year was no exception. Gracia made good use of her salfie stick (Santa sure knew what it was all about when be got her that) and took a lovely family photo.
When Jill and Mel sent me some Kaisercraft Heirloom papers and stickers to work with this month they seemed perfect for this photo. I really didn't want to cover up too much of the tree so kept my photo and most of the embellishments on the left of the page. The words at the top of the page were on a cut off strip from one of the papers.
The Heirloom range can be found here and if you check the DT Gallery later in the month you will see lots of projects using lots of gorgeous Kaisercraft products.

Get ready for Mothers' Day!
I know that it's still almost two weeks until Mothering Sunday, but tomorrow in papercraft club at school we'll be starting to make our mothers' day cards (it can take some of them two sessions to do a card!) so I thought I would dedicate this blog post to mothers everywhere and share a couple of projects with you...
Here is my mum back when she was 11 years old...
Here is my mum back when she was 11 years old...
Then, her when I was a little girl...
And her now...my crafting inspiration...
I usually try to go to town on my Mum's card. Though having trawled through my pictures on my computer I clearly don't always take a photo of them!
Here's a fairly simple one...
A graphic 45 'Secret Garden' card...
And a little more elaborate...a woven basket filled with flowers...this one was a birthday card, but I made the same card for mothers day that year too!
This one was my favourite, (coming from the North East although I type Mum, I actually call her Mam)...
Featuring rolled paper roses...
Since my Mum is now big into patchwork and quilting my plan for this year is to make her card using some of the new Graphic 45 Home Sweet Home papers, and especially the 'Granny's Quilt' paper which you can find in the shop here...
Watch out on Facebook...I might post my finished card!
