June Virtual Crop Class 3 with Mel

Hello everyone, how is it June already? Half the year has gone by in a flash!

This month I have been working with the Kaisercraft Explorer range. It's been a while since we were able to travel but I found some old photos from previous trips which I used however the layouts could be adapted to suit adventures much closer to home.

Click Here for Instructions and to see layout 2.

I hope you enjoy the class, do stop by the ATDML # Create Facebook Page and share what you are up to.

December 2020 Virtual Crop Class 2 with Mel

Hello everyone and welcome to my final Virtual Crop class of the year. I can't say that 2020 has been a great year overall but one of the good things has been the way our scrapping community has come together to make the isolated days a little brighter.

I knew I had this wintery kit to use this month so I was really pleased at the start of the month when we had a flurry of snow and I could get some photos of Olivia in the snow. She was pleased as it was her first day of isolation as a contact of someone with covid so there was no school for her and she could get out into the garden for a quick play before online lessons started!

My Timehop App that very same day came up with the photos I had taken exactly a decade previously of the girls in the snow so I decided to do a "Then and Now" style page.

To see the other page and for full instructions click HERE.

Come back at 2pm to see what Tricia has made with her kt.

November VC Class by Guest Designer Helen Howden

Helen has previously done some guest DT work for us and we love her style (and her amazing handwriting) so we were very happy when she kindly agreed to put together a class for us working with the Crafternoon collection from Kaisercraft.

She has made a whopping FIVE layouts from her kit which featured papers and the versatile stickers from this collection.

Click Here to see the full instructions and the other four pages she made. Don't forget to share your creations on the ATDML # Create Facebook page and join us again at 2pm When Debs will be sharing her class.

Class 6 with Mel using Kaisercraft Grand Bazaar

Welcome back to my second class of the weekend this time using the Kaisercraft Grand Bazaar collection. I was drawn to this collection as it offered the opportunity to create pages with lots to look at and a "collagey" appearance but with lots of the work done for you!

I made three pages for this class and you can find the instructions here.

Join us at 4pm for the next class which is the first of our two Guest Designer classes, this one is designed by Antonia Sturt-Hammond who has kindly designed our Friday bonus retreat class for the past couple of years which always goes down a treat!

TRICK OR RETREAT CLASS 1 - WITH ANN

Oh my lovely scrapbookers how I wish we were at Stoke by Nayland right now all settled in for the weekend but alas it was not to be. Positive side of this is that those who would not otherwise be able to join us this weekend get to craft along with us, and whilst we can't see each other for real we are all scrapping along together from the safety of our own homes.

So first off, if you missed the live on Facebook launching this class, here I am and a warm welcome to you all this weekend. I've been with ATDML quite a number of years now and love designing classes so am hoping you will like this one as much as I did

So my first class is using Kaisercraft Workshop which is a fab masculine collection but quite versatile for scrapping lots of different subjects as well. I have made a whopping four pages and there is plently left for more so a very good value kit this one.

Take a look at the instructions HERE on how I pulled my pages together and feel free to change them up to suit - or indeed to scraplift with your own papers if you like.

We do have a gallery for you to share your class layouts - feel free to tag us and if you post on social media this weekend use #atdmltrickorretreat

Next class is at 8pm with Mel using gorgeous CCV Daydream papers

Class 15 - The Living Room with Kaisercraft Lily & Moss and Ann Freeman

And it's the end of your Cybercrop - do you have room for just one more class?
I have used the unusual colour combos of green & pink  in Kaisercraft Lily & Moss collection for this class.  Don’t you agree that some of the papers in the collection look like wallpaper? I have a wallpapered feature wall in my living room and hence I chose that room of the home for this class.

Also the Living Room is the heart of the home I think, where everyone gathers, and that is reflected in my second layout.

My final layout brings our House & Home cybcercrop to a close with a paper pieced house featured in the design. I hope you enjoy these and you can find the instructions to download for free just HERE.

Thank you all for joining our cybercrop. This wraps up the event but do keep sharing your pages with us - and remember entries for the challenges end next Sunday.

Class 16 - Andy

Hello all - Dolly here again and this is the final class of what has been an amazing weekend of fun and chatter, scrapping and recording those all important memories. Andy loved his toys so much and to show they belonged to him his name was written proudly on the bottom of his toys. So this class is all about writing - although I want you to write a lot more than just your name.

People often worry about writing on their pages, preferring to either hide the journalling or use a computer, but I promise you, in years to come it will be the fact your writing is on your pages that will help to make those memories so special.

My handwriting isn't great, but that really doesn't matter; it is me!

This class will encourage you to document special stories with more than just a who, where, when, why and what approach.

One layout focuses on a lengthier story or event, one focuses on the little things in life that are so often missed yet are the seasoning in our lives and the other - well the other is just for fun.

I can't wait to see what you come up with and most of all, I can't wait to see your writing and read your stories.

Download the instructions here

Have fun everyone and do upload your pages to our class album on our facebook page here

Class 8 - Woody

"Yee-haw! Giddy-up partner! We've got to get this wagon train scrappin’ a-movin'!" [Woody Toy Story 2]
Sheriff Woody Pride (also known as Sheriff Woody; usually addressed as Woody) is one of the main characters of the Toy Story films.  He is an old-fashioned, floppy, pull-string cowboy doll with an 'original hand painted face'. The voice-box that is activated by the pull-string says many simple phrases such as "Reach for the sky!", "You're my favourite deputy!", "There's a snake in my boot!", and "Somebody's poisoned the waterhole!". Woody was once Andy’s favourite toy until Andy grew up and gave him to a little girl named Bonnie. He was the leader of Andy's toys and later Bonnie's toys and the hero of the Toy Story films. In each film, Woody leaves Andy/Bonnie's room (where he and the other toys live) and ventures out into the world on an unexpected adventure.

This class takes its inspiration from Woody’s name and hand painted face by making use of the woodgrain paper and die cut, and the painty paper and die cut shapes from Kaisercraft’s Havana Nights Collection.
Instructions on how the layouts were put together can be found here.  Please pop into the ATDML #CREATE Facebook page to show use what you've done and to join in with the cybercrop chatter.

Next up “You got a play-date with destiny Slinky! [Lotso]

ATDML Alphabetical challenge K

And we are already on the letter K for our twice monthly alphabetical challenge and your letter K prompts to help prompt your next paper craft project are as follows.

And I am fully aware I spelled Kaisercraft incorrectly in the above, but we'll gloss over that and look forward to being inspired to create from the list. I have illustrated the challenge with a Kaisercraft Blessed page of my Kids - how will you rise to the challenge??

Just pick one or more of the K prompts to start your next page and share your inspired creation with us on our Facebook group in the Alphabetical Gallery.

April Virtual Crop Class with Ann

My class today features a wedding themed layout (though the kit allows you to go for a more generic general love theme if preferred) where I added a little flicked paint to the white cardstock background to break up what would otherwise be quite a basic, graphic page but this is entirely optional.

I also made a mini book to house all the lovely retreat photos I would have from our weekend away and to make the most of the beautiful Ephemera pack pieces in the kit.

As always we would love to see what you make with your class kit so please share with us.

Your instructions for these projects can be found HERE and I hope you enjoy making them.
Happy Easter to you all, and enjoy virtual crop day x

March Virtual Crop with Katherine

Hello everyone, I hope you are having a lovely scrappy weekend, here is my class using Kaisercraft's Factory 42.  It is a very industrial and grungy page with a few techniques.

You will need baking parchment, inks and some gesso.

My first page looks at making the most of the large die-cut cog and then a stamping technique with baking parchment and a way to create brickwork without a stencil...

My 2nd page is perfect for using up scraps and was inspired by one of the stickers in this collection...very parquet flooring and satisfying to make!

I hope you enjoy the class, you can find the instructions here.

Don't forget to come on over to the ATDML # Create Facebook Page and share your creations then come back here at midday to see Tricia's class.

February 2019 Virtual Crop day with Ann and Kaisercraft

Hello lovely crafters where I hope your Sunday is planned to be a relaxing one. By the time this post goes live I will have been out on a chilly rugby pitch side watching my boys so it's a good job my class kit today is sunnier colours.

I have created two pages, on embracing the recent trend to feature triangles on your layouts (which I am really having a phase on at the moment!)

And my second page I went a tad fringe scissors crazy! You don't have to use fringing (or herb scissors as they are also known) you can use normal scissors and it'll take a little longer, or just add unfringed strips of paper and stickers instead for a similar but less textured look.

Your instructions can be found HERE and I hope you are inspired to have a go..and there may even be a bonus project at the end as well.

Don't forget to share your creations over on the ATDML # Create Facebook Page.

Jan 2019 Virtual Crop Class 1 with Karen

Good morning everyone and welcome to another virtual crop and I am really pleased to bring you the first class of the day. It uses the beautiful Rose Avenue Collection of papers from KaiserCraft.
The papers offer such a beautiful mix of soft pinks, blues and greens and it is the perfect antidote for the cold greyness of January.

I will show you how to get real bang for your buck and create three pages from the class instructions.
If you didn't manage to snag one of these beautiful kits you can still follow along and enjoy the class with other papers from your supplies.

I hope you enjoy playing along.

You can find all of the instructions here

Do head over to the ATDML # Create facebook page to share what you have been creating and let me know if you have any questions. Then pop back at midday to see Tricia's lovely class giving you an opportunity to scrap some of those festive photos you took last month.

Scrap lift Santa - Katherine and Layers

Hello everyone and welcome to another Scrap lift Santa page.  This one is a little messy,  with lots of die cuts and the Kaisercraft Letters to Santa collection with it's beautiful poinsettias.

I started the page with some gesso, and then stuck some art pebbles into the paint, adding some gold mist.  I layered up lots of the papers and then cut the Kaisercraft stickers into individual flowers - the sticker set has a huge banner of poinsettias.  I die cut some leaves from a mix of red and green papers in the range, layering them up, adding gauze and more stickers underneath.  So really just stickers and layers!

I like how you can see all the layers through the leaf die cuts.

I used a mix of spraying mist on the page and then adding some drips.  The gesso helps the mist to sit on top of the paint.

The title comes from some Pebbles Thickers made for Patio Party, but the woodgrain fits perfectly with this winter range.

I hope that has encouraged you to find your inner messy and dig out some paints for a scrap lift.  Do check out the gallery as there is lots more inspiration in there too.

Wishing you and all your family a lovely Christmas and New Year.

October Virtual Crop - with Katherine

Hello everyone, Katherine here with a 2 pages for this months Virtual Crop.  I choose to use black and white photos with my papers, and there is a beautiful die cut piece in the kit.

The first page is a little messy, so dig out your paints and distress oxides or watercolours, once you've created the background the rest of it comes together really easily.

The next page is not messy, just lots of layering and using some of the beautiful phrases that come in this paper line.

I hope you enjoy making.  Do share over in our Facebook group as we love to see what you make.

Class 15 - TRIVIAL PURSUITS with Mel

Welcome to the last class of our Cyber Crop Weekend. Huge Thanks to all our wonderful DT members for putting together classes and instructions for you and an extra special thanks to Ann who once again co-ordinated the Cyber Crop and sorted all the challenges.

My final class is based on Trivial Pursuits which is a game I really love to play (I adore quizzes) but my family and friends really don't love it - so it is a very rare treat.

As you can see I was inspired by the counters and used the die cut to make this a key feature of the layout.

Click Here for instructions and a second bonus layout

Don't forget to keep sharing your classes and challenges in the appropriate gallery over on the ATDML # Create Facebook Page.

Come back for our final challenge at 2pm!

Class 12 - JENGA with Ann

Time for Class 12 with me now and inspired by the stacking and layering of wooden blocks in the game Jenga we will be stacking and layering pattern papers in a two layout class, instructions for which can be downloaded HERE

Plenty of options to vary up these pages and make them your own and certainly to play along with your own choice of papers if you didn't get the lovely Kaisercraft kit. Please do share them when you have created in our class gallery on Facebook.

Next up after this class is the RUBIX challenge at 6pm (hopefully a lot easier than the real thing!!) followed by another class IMAGINARIUM with Jane at 8pm
