July's Scraplift Challenge

Hello, hello lovlies.

For July's scraplift challenge I am, controversially, scraplifting myself!

I liked how quickly and simply this page came together using Kaisercraft's Sage and Grace papers

and used another Kaisercraft range, Wildflower, to scraplift it.

I cut circles from two of the papers and used Paper Artsy Infusions to colour the gloss paper,  added some doodles around these as I felt they were a little plain.

Then I added a landscape rather  than a portrait photo and butterflies instead of flowers.

As always, I am really excited to see what you come up with this month.

The ATDML gallery can be found on the 'Information' section -  at the right-hand side of the ATDML shop site .

June's Project Life - Washie Tape Filler Cards

Hello, hello lovely peeps.  How is this fine Saturday finding you?

Today, I have some washie tape filler cards to show you.

Like many of you, I suspect, I have way too much washie tape, more than I am ever going to use in a lifetime but I am still seduced by it and far too often think 'Oh that's cute' and before I know it more joins the rolls languishing in my drawer.

I am sure I have more in a 12 x 12 bag somewhere!

I had seen some project life filler cards using washie tape on Pinterest and so decided that it would be a good project for this month.  If you would like to have a quick look at some I found they are here.

I decided to use yellow and grey tape - not a great of fan of yellow on it's own but I think it takes on a whole new level of gorgeousness when teamed with grey.

I only played about and made six cards but so loved making them that I am now thinking about making whole 12 x 12 backgrounds with washie tape.

Hopefully, you will be inspired to get out your washie tape and use it for filler cards, the front of a greeting card or on a large section of a layout.

Smile with Kaisercraft

Here is a page I made featuring the new Basecoat papers from Kaisercraft - they are beautiful and grungey...the perfect backing for any page.  They are dominated by lots of colour so they co-ordinate beautifully with any other papers that you have - for this page I have used a mix of older and newer Kaisercraft papers to match with my photo - there is a bit of Bombay Sunset in there, and also some Kaleidoscope and Blue Bay too - I just dug through my Kaisercraft papers and pulled out a few bits.

Having chosen the papers and getting a rough arrangement for my photos, I decided to add a little bit more colour to the Basecoat background, and since Ann and Karen have been inspiring us with diffusions and I managed to pick a few up, I had a play too.  I started with a large and thick area of white gesso, then added some sprinkles of the infusions in - I could have mixed them in with my palette knife but instead I added water and so you get drips of the Sunset Beach, Rusty Car and Golden sands - it is great watching the colours change, and it adds a lovely vintage look.

You can find the Basecoat papers here and the infusions here

June Virtual Crop Class 3 with Mel

Hello and welcome to the last class of the day in our June Virtual Crop.

I worked with the beautiful Kaisercraft Just Landed collection and with a very paper heavy kit I managed to get FIVE layouts from it - that should keep you busy for a while!

Although some of them are travel themed I tried to get one in there that wasn't just to vary things up a bit!

Click here to download the full PDF instructions and see the other layouts.

I hope you have enjoyed the three classes on offer today, join us again in July for another Virtual crop and pencil in the third weekend in August for our annual Cyber Crop; a full weekend extravaganza with EIGHTEEN Classes from our lovely talented Design Team plus challenges across the weekend!

June Virtual Crop Class 2 with Tricia using Simple stories 'Sunshine and Happiness'

Good Afternoon (just)

This month I'll be working with the Simple stores 'sunshine and happiness range. These papers are so bright and full of summer, they scream hot days, ice cream and maybe the cheeky odd cocktail.....

I've brought in a little bit of that grass skirt, tiki hut feel by adding some fringing to my first page

The gorgeous 'Happy day' paper gives it a floral paradise feel perfect for summery days in the garden or wherever in the world you find yourself.

It just wouldn't be summer without ice cream, summery drinks and making the most of the good weather.  We've been pretty lucky recently weatherwise so these papers are great for celebrating these precious days out.

June Virtual Crop Class 1 with Karen using Amy Tangerine 'Oh Happy Life'

Hello, hello. Karen here kicking off the June Virtual Crop.

This month I bring you not one, not two, not three but four pages created with the lovely and vibrant 'Oh Happy Life' range from Amy Tangerine.  If you don't have one of the kits you are still very welcome to join in using your own stash and make your own version of the pages.

Page 1 - Everyday Happy

Quite a simple page with only a little bit of rough fussy cutting for the title but lots of 'happy' all over the page.

Love This Life

I think this may well be the quickest page I have ever made.  The paper was just perfect for adding four photos and a title and it was finished!

Love This So Much

Back to my usual 'full on' style of page and this one involves a little optional colouring.

More of This Please

This page uses the manufacturer's strips and pieces from the border paper to make the base of your page - it was such a fun technique that I am sure I will use it again.

Hope you have a happy scrappy weekend and please share the pages you make on our Facebook page.

Gallery Favourites for May using Simple Stories

Here are a few of my favourites from May's gallery which is all about Simple Stories.  Hopefully they will also fuel you with inspiration for the scrap lift challenge - choose one of the pages from the gallery and use it as inspiration for your page, then share it in our Facebook group ATDML#Create to be in with a chance to win a prize.

First up is Ann's - I love her messy pages this month using Paperartsy's Infusions (you can find them here) and lots of the Simple Stories Faith collection.  I also like the way she's tilted the white cardstock to back it onto the patterned paper.

I love Karen's dimension in this page and all the little bits of doodling around the edges of the page and photos.  The gold foiling on the papers and the embellishments really add some sparkle to a beautiful page celebrating love.

More gorgeous pages from Tricia - using Domestic Bliss - perfectly matched colours with the yellows, greens and blues, and I really like the idea of balancing your page with a half a square at the top and half a circle at the bottom, which is the perfect place to put an arched title.

Here is my page, inspired by my sister...and uses Domestic Bliss too.  I tried cutting with scissors rather than my go to guillotine this time so everything is more uneven than normal! I added lots of layers and stickers all from the same range so that the colours worked well (though I have noticed that Simple Stories use similar colours across their ranges, so you can easily mix ranges and have perfectly matching colours too!).  I used lots of flicks of metallic paints in co-ordinating colours on the card stock background.

Do go and check out the gallery this month, as this is just a taster...you can find it here.  The shop is also packed with Simple Stories ranges here.

June's Scraplift Challenge

Hello lovely scrappers and welcome to June's scraplift challenge.  A little later than usual, apologies I forgot to write the blog post!

This month I am scraplifting Ann's gorgeous Seek

I loved the diagonal split of paper and the clusters and Ann is really the queen of sequin placement.

I used a 6 x 4 photo rather than a square one but still added it to my photo mount asymmetrically as Ann has.  I also went for three clusters of embellishments and then added some gems and pearls.

As always, I am really excited to see what you come up with this month.

The ATDML gallery can be found on the 'Information' section -  at the right-hand side of the ATDML shop site .
