49 and Market Vintage Artistry Anywhere

We've been sent some beautiful papers this month from 49 and Market and if you haven't used this manufacturer before they are definitely worth a look at.  The papers are heavy, fabulous for distressing the edges of and adding ink too (I've not tried spritzing them yet but have added extra distress ink colour to them).  The embellishments you get with the collections are also gorgeous and I have been particularly impressed with the rub-on sheets....so impressed that my whole layout was pretty much based around one of the sheets!  You get 6 sheets in a back along with the tool for removing them from the backing - they go on beautifully and blend into the page.

I used the top right corner sheet for this page, it pulls lots of colours from the map papers in this collection and has lots of paint splatters around the edge, so this was the inspiration for my page.

I started with 2 areas of blue distress ink, building up the colour and then use a Stampers Anonymous map stamp that I had and roughly stamped in a darker blue ink over the top.  I then went in with lots of splatters of different blue coloured ink and added on the rub-ons.  They are great as you can cut them apart, so I was careful to cut and adjust them so not too much was lost behind the photo and not on display!  The last bit was to add some gauze and I used (and gutted) one of the papers to go behind my white card stock....mainly as I had an accidental blue splodge in the corner of my white card and needed to make it look like a deliberate part of the design!

Here you can see the detail in the rub-ons, it has definitely gone up several levels since I last used them on my pages!
