Cluedo Cybercrop Class 9 Colonel Mustard behind the Beauty Backdrop with the Needle

Wadsworth, am I right in thinking there’s nobody else in this house?

Oh you're here too … hello there - ahem - good to see you although if one has a suspicious disposition one might wonder what you're doing wandering around at this time of the night? It seems you have found me behind the beauty backdrop adding a few finishing touches to my creations with one of my favourite tools - the needle!  The journaling phrases on the Heidi Swapp stickers were perfect to record daily Face time catch-ups with my daughter who lives away from home and the gorgeous floral papers from Webster's pages were perfect for adding a girly touch to the page.

Instructions to create this layout and others can be found here.

We'd love to examine the evidence of your efforts and so please share what you have done on the #ATDML Create Facebook page.  If you are sharing images inspired by any of the ATDML Cluedo cyber crop classes on social media,  please use the #atdmlcluedocypbercrop link.

My Retreat Classes

As promised sharing some retreat inspiration with you this week in the form of my first class using Simple Stories Harvest Lane papers, which are so perfect for your autumn/fall photos. Notice the banner style pieces in the layout which are a popular sight on pages these days and featured on Katherine's technique Tuesday post last week.

I created two layouts from one of the Simple Basic kits that Simple Stories do which contains 5 double sided patterned papers, one of which is the suite of bingo cards. I also used a Sizzix die available from Stamping Up and a matching set of stamps for the leaves and acorns on the pages and supplied a template to create the owl from the left over papers. Titles using  a set of Thickers in my favourite font Jewellery box completed the pages.

Time for a Change

Hi there - Karen here with a quick little post on how I changed some of the papers and elements for this months gallery.

Firstly, for my Jubilee Cupcakes layout,

 By Karen Moss

I cut all the cups and saucers from the Graphic 45  Kraft Reflections - Tea for Two and layerd them onto my page .

I felt it needed more more colour and so took inspiration from the Union flag and coloured the cups and saucers blue and red with water colour pencils.

I found that the paper took the colour really well and I was able to blend the colours out with a water brush.

For the Beach Baby page

I only had black letters in the size I wanted to use

Thickers: CHIPBOARD - Gift Box BLACK

and these looked too stark against the muted colours of the page.  I stamped them with white ink

Staz On White Ink Pad with Re Inker

and a text stamp similar to these ones

Clear stamps - Legends

and this had the effect of toning down the black and making them blend in with the feel of the page more.

So there you have it - don't always settle for what the manufacturers give you, mix it up a bit to make it your own!
