Class 7 with Tricia - Working girl

We are just halfway through and there have been some fab classes so far.

I've been a busy girl recently, between changing career and attempting to do some renovations to our house, it's definately kept me going.

In this class we'll be using Simple stories 'reset girl' to create 2 layouts surrounding 'work' whether it be your career or getting your hands messy.  Both of them are geared towards getting out there and 'doing' something so they would be great for days out too.

Layout 1 'Today was a DO IT day' is a multi photo layout that tells the story across the 3 photos - we are currently giving our garden an overhaul so I thought I'd use the series of photos to chart our progress.  I could always continue the design to another page to create a double page (or more) layout.

Layout 2 'Do what you love, Love what you do' looks at the little day to day bits of my job, however, it could be used to record your hobby or interests.  I used 1" and 3" punches but it would work well with any size of punch or drawing round any random object that works and cutting freehand.

I look forward to seeing what do with this kit - pop back at 1pm where Mel will be using Bo Bunny Beautiful 'Dreamer in Class 8

Class 6 with Jane - Rear Window

The title for this should have been ‘Windows on the World’ except that I don’t think that is a film!! But the Hitchcock classic Rear Window is one of my favourites, and since this class features little windows that open...

I wanted to use the Piggy Tales Windows as a way of giving glimpses of what is inside a folded page. The instructions show how the book structure is made but then how you decorate it is up to you - below I have shown each page in my book to give you ideas. Each page is a double spread which opens up - so the first picture shows it closed then the next picture shows the spread opened up.
First here's the front cover...

Then the pages - one by one (there are lots!)

Instructions for this class can be found here...

Come back at 12:00 for Tricia's first class - enjoy!

Class 5 with Ann - Life through a Lens (2011)

I chose life through a lens for my film inspiration as the kit had lots of photo themed items and I also liked the grid design on the film poster which inspired my second layout and made the most of the 2x2 squared paper in the kit.

You can find instructions to download for my class here which I hope you enjoy.

Jane is up next at 10am with her first class of the weekend. Happy scrapping

Challenge 2 - Big (1988)

Challenge 2 is up for you  this fine morning ahead of another day of classes and challenges from the team.

Go Big on your photo or your title is your challenge inspired by the 1998 Tom Hanks film "Big".

Karen has illustrated a layout below featuring a BIG title (love this!)

And Mel has also provided an example for us using an oversized photo..

Debbie also played along with this challenge illustrated beautifully below.

Once you have created your page inspired by this challenge why not upload it to our Facebook gallery for Challenge 2.  Challenges will remain open until midnight on Bank Holiday Monday 28th August to give you plenty of time to join in.

See you back here in a hour for the first class of the day with yours truly at 9am.

Challenge 1 - Film themed bingo

Hello scrappers and welcome to your first challenge of this film themed cybercrop weekend. I am sure you have played scrapping bingo before but for those of you who haven't, or who need a reminder here's what to do. Simply pick a line be it horizontal, vertical or diagonal and select those elements to incorporate on a new layout.

Save your completed layout in the challenge 1 gallery on Facebook once you have completed it and who knows, we may select a prize at random for a lucky participant. Challenges will remain open until midnight on Bank Holiday Monday 28th August to give you plenty of time to join in.

My layout (created for a previous retreat class) illustrates the top horizontal row of the bingo board above, with blue colours, boy themed photos and paper and a heart (on the paper at the top left of the layout).

Karen also played along with this challenge and created the page below from the right hand column of the bingo board.

Debbie has played along too with the diagonal line of the bingo (top left to bottom right).

That's it for your first day of this your 2017 film themed Cybercrop. See you back here tomorrow at 8am for challenge #2 ahead of your next class at 9am.

Class 4 - The Wizard of Oz with Katherine

Hello and welcome to my first class of our Cybercrop, it's called the Wizard of Oz because of all the greens in these papers.  There are lots of embellishments in this kit so you can change any of the words to suit your photos better.

I also use an inky technique on the second page with distress inks, and there is tearing and distressing too.

I hope you enjoy the class, you can find it here.

Class 3 with Mel - Home

Welcome to my first class of this cybercrop weekend. I fell in love with the awesome wooden house in the kit and so my film title choice just had to be "Home!"

The Daisy D's paper in the kit is one that I have loved since it was released and I hope that this class illustrates how you can take some older papers and team it with a newer item like the wooden house piece to give it a new twist.

I am sure we are ALL guilty of having some purchases which we loved, stroked for a while but ultimately did nothing with... so maybe take time during one of the challenges or during a class which you dont have the kit for and pull out some of those old favourites and actually USE them!

The kit included two title options depending on the direction you wanted to go with your layout and obviously with the range of apertures in the house there is scope for adapting the number and size of photos.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with, don't forget to stop by the ATDML # Create Facebook page and share your pages - go to albums and choose the appropriate album.

Come back at 9pm for Katherines class and then at 10pm for a fun challenge :)
