Bo Bunny DT Gallery for April

I cannot believe we are at the end or April already and tomorrow will be May! What a wet and windy end to the month we have seen too. BINGO!

Two challenges in one weekend, how's that for inspiration? Well we figured since it is wet and windy across most of the country you may be staying in the warm and dry and getting crafty with paper so here is another challenge to inspire your next project.

Over the retreat weekend at the start of April we had a bingo challenge. The grid below contains 16 squares of scrapping bingo. The challenge is to pick a line, one of the 4 rows or columns, or maybe a diagonal and use the four scrapping inspiration points on a page.

I created a page based on this challenge choosing the third column along. I misted the background white card with October Afternoon Buttermilk spray ink (my fave!), used multiple photos and it features flowers and die cut (hearts and postage stamps) shapes on the page. The tage/ticket paper and the title stickers are from Echo Park's Note to Self collection which I am working my way through at the moment and I can see the whole pack disappearing quite quickly at the rate I am going! Worth a look if you want some neutral coloured papers featuring stripes, dots, music notes, film reels etc

Better Late Then Never!

April's sketch - just squeezing in before the end of the month!

This month Jill and Mel gave us Bo Bunny ranges to work with and I had the absolutely stunning Country Garden .  I cannot believe that I cut the butterflies from every sheet of paper to make this layout, which was the first project I made this month - leaving myself without a single whole sheet of paper to finish my DT work with!

So this is the sketch

and this is my interpretation of it.

A New Design Team Member For ATDML

Meet Katherine Sutton AKA UKS member Sutty. Her work is on show in this months gallery as the guest designer but we are really excited to add her to our regular design team. 

Here is what Katherine told us about herself:

My name is Katherine Sutton and I am married with two beautiful and energetic boys, the feature of many of my scrapbook pages.  I stumbled upon scrapbooking in 2006 when my mother-in-law bought me a kit, and I fell in love with it instantly.  I love creating with paper, trying new techniques, making my own embellishments, mixing and matching colour and pattern,  that combined with capturing precious moment in my family’s life makes it even more enjoyable for me.  One of my pleasures is seeing my kids and friends look through my albums and enjoy and reminisce about the moments in the pages.  I am so excited about being asked to join the amazing design team at A Trip Down Memory Lane and can't wait to get started.

Sunday crafting at the retreat

First up on Sunday was an Echo Park mini book class with Karen Moss. There was a girl and boy option and Karen had made examples of each.

In the crop room Debbie got everyone creating fabric flowers with voile and a heat gun! It turned out to be very addictive and even I managed a go at this!

Simple stories is a favourite of ours and of Anns and she had been very quick to request that she used the 'Awesome' range for one of her classes. There was stencilling and paint as well of some lovely papers!

Fabiana and Claire kindly did the painting Lynn who had a gorgeous manicure that was still drying!

Back in the crop room there flowers were still being produced - Tracey was thrilled was the results of her efforts and here she is with a before and after.

And just to prove it here I am making my flowers!

Then it was time for lunch... Mmmmmm Sunday roast!

Denise did a very popular make & take after lunch on Sunday. She is amazing with distress inks and she kindly agreed to do a make & take with them.

Helen even got chance to have a play.

The last class of the weekend was Karens beautiful Bo Bunny layout.

Saturday part 2

After Janes hinged canvas class Debbie was back at the front of the classroom teaching a layout class with October afternoon Sidewalks.

The class featured two single layouts as shown below...

later in the afternoon it was time for my final class of the weekend and we were getting inky and messy with cosmic shimmers and distress ink combined with Prima resist canvas and Glitz French Kiss papers.

part two of Janes class saw thEm hinging their dry canvases together and decorating inside and out.

after dinner which was delicious but sadly unphotographed there was an evening of cropping, challenges and a make and take by Jane. Once again I seem to have captured a little bit of craziness as Ann and Jane pose like professionals!

Janes canvas inspired Clair so much that she bought four canvases and created a larger hinged canvas. She particularly enjoyed watching the paint dry!

Saturday night was a late one for me - bed a little after 3am and there were still several scrapers working when I headed upstairs for bed!

Saturday part 1

First up on Saturday morning was Ann's My Minds Eye class, she had made two layouts with the kit and kept the delegates busy with punching and distressing.

Debbie managed a bit of inspired free styling and built up a layered star.

After her class Ann did her make & take and the ladies made layered, stitched and embellished felt flowers.

Being a bit silly....

Karen Cole taught her class next, a beautiful double layout using the new Websters Pages Everyday Poetry line.

Lunch was a buffet and as always very tasty. I didn't manage to get a photo of the stunning fruit platter before it was devoured but it was very tasty.

after lunch it was back to the classroom for part one of Janes Cosmo Cricket Hinged Canvas. First up was a layer of brown paint, then a layer of crackle glaze and then cream paint.
