March's Scraplift Challenge

Hello, hello - it's Karen here with the March Scraplift Challenge.

This month I chose Katherine's fabulous page 'Life Was Made For Great Adventure'.  I particularly liked how she had surrounded her photos with the patterned paper hexagons and also thought I would challenge myself by using a little paint on my page. 

As you can see I fussy cut lots of flowers to surround my photos but like Katherine used a manufacturer's strip for my title.  I used 4 x 4 square photos instead of 3 x 4 landscape ones and added words on the left of each photo whereas Katherine added hers to the right of only one. 

I think that between us we have Katherine's perfect boy page and my page which is more girlie.

February's PL Style Page

Hello, hello lovlies.  Today I am going to quickly show you my process for making a PL style page.
This month's project is a double page layout (because I had so many photos) and it is about my Unbirthday that I celebrated in Newcastle with Gracia and Josh.

To start my pages I lay out pieces of paper that I have cut to the size of photos and patterned paper that I use to make my pages.  I have a little envelope that I keep them in and the sizes I have used for this project are 5.75in x 3.75in,  3.75 in x 2.75 in and 3.75 in x 3.75 in.

Next I chose the paper and cut it to size. 

I also have another envelope where I keep my photo sized pieces of paper and the next stage is to decide what size photos I am going to use.

I then print my photos and add them to the pages (I changed one of the photo sizes as the content didn't lend itself to the size I had first chosen).

The final step is to embellish my pages and add some journalling (I stuck the piece of spotty paper onto my Silhouette mat and used the Silhouette to do the journalling). I also used black card for my title which I cut on the Silhouette.

Family with Kaisercraft's Cherry Tree Lane and a Video

This month we were sent some of the new Kaisercraft collections to play with, one of mine was Cherry Tree Lane which is a beautiful vintage style line of papers, with bits of peeling paint and pretty flowers too in muted pastel colours - it is beautiful.  I decided to mix cogs and flowers in a page with my children with their Granny.  Most of the embellishments are from the co-ordinating embellishment pack with this range - there are lots of goodies in those packs, as well as a few cogs that I die cut.

February's Virtual Crop - Class 3 with Katherine

Hello, and welcome to our last class this weekend, I hope you've enjoyed the challenges and classes so far.  Here is my class using Simple Stories' I Am collection.  I don't often scrap myself so these papers challenged me to have a go at scrapping some photos of me.  The first page has a large spot for journalling next to the photo.

The second page is quick and easy to put together, using lots of the stickers and embellishments - there is gold foiling, but it doesn't show up as nicely in my photos.

Finally a family page using lots of the words and phrases from the papers.

February's virtual crop - Class 2 with Jane

Hello everyone - today I am bringing you a little aquatic themed project courtesy of Voyage Beneath the Sea papers from Graphic 45. I loved the mermaid on the papers and decided I wanted to feature her - but since she wasn't all there I have recreated her tail by making scales using punched circles.

I also loved the waves in this kit so they had to feature. These are the perfect papers to use for beach themed photos - though mine is a very old photo (yes,  that's me in the middle there in about 1988!)

Anyway I hope you like my LO and give it a go if you got the kit - or do your own spin on it.

February's Virtual Crop - Class 1 with Karen

Hello, hello lovely Virtual Croppers.  Welcome to the February Virtual Crop.

I'm up first this month with two layouts made with My Mind's Eye - Now and Then.

The first uses either a large photo or several smaller ones to make up the size and my second one uses eleven small photos but it will depend on which frames you choose to use for your layout.

The second one is made to look like a 'rogues gallery' as I thought the 'B-Side' if the 'Labels' paper looked like wallpaper so I cut out the frames to make a photo display.

I hope you enjoy making these pages and I look forward to seeing your versions.  Pop back at 12 when Jane will be working her magic.
