May 24 Virtual crop class with Tricia

Good Morning everyone and welcome to May's Virtual crop.

Today I'm making the most of the great weather we have had/are having/hope to have*

* delete as appropriate ;0)

For my first layout I'll be visiting the seaside for a walk and combining sandy tones and blues with a pop of sunshine orange.  I've used these fab acetate elements to create my own personalised negative strips to accompany my main photo.  I've also used the gorgeous newspaper style paper for a nod to seaside fish and chips too.

For the second layout I'll be creating a shuttered look, I wanted to give the look of garden fences and peeking out through the window shutters out to the garden.  We'll be breaking down and reforming an image to make the most of the incredible design.

So if you are ready click here and head over the folder for todays classes.

Class 12 Nobody puts baby in the corner with Ann

Happy Sunday afternoon to you all! Lets crack on with the penultimate class of the cybercrop inspired by one of the most famous lines from the film spoken by Johnnie (our beloved Patrick Swayze) who decalres towards the end of the film "nobody puts baby in the corner".

For this class my designs features corner elements with sun rays bursting from the bottom left corner of layout 1 and a multi-photo layout 2 with the focus of the design in opposite corners.  The collection used is Obed Marshall Especiale where I split the colourways of the kit to have a citrus inspired layout 1 and a blue/green inspired layout 2. Lots of elements remaining too for another page (and perfect if you have holidays in Spain!)

You can find the instructions for the class here and I look forward to seeing your pages. Tracy closes the show next at 6pm where we hope you will join her for The Time of your Life!

I have made two pages today, the fabulous (!) instructions for which can be found here!

Enjoy and Tricia is up next at 2pm with your third class today. Happy Sunday!

The first "It should be Virtual Crop Day but it isn't" Challenge

Hello all, as we are unable to host a virtual crop this month instead I am scheduling a challenge to get your scrapping inspiration going.

Below are a selection of summer quotes I found online, use either the quote or the image as a prompt for a layout. Don't forget to share them over on the ATDML # Create Facebook Page...

March virtual crop Class 2 with Tricia

Morning Campers

This month I've been getting ready for summer with the hot, bright colours of Echo Park's 'Fun in the Sun'.  The range is full of punchy primry colours and geometri shapes and I loved carrying that theme across my pages.

Choose a day from summer last year and use a mixture of the phrases and stickers to tell us what you loved about it or use the alphabet stickers to create your own.

The papers contain a lovely mix of hot colours that team perfectly with the cardstock stickers in red, yellow, green and pale blues.  Grab your favourite summer photos, find the instructions here and lets get going!

I hope you enjoy the class - I look forward to seeing your creations over on the Facebook page.

Mixing & Matching

Hello, I am back again with a layout I have been working on using up all sorts of bits of stash I have lying around!

Sometimes it is great to get out a collection pack and know that everything within it goes with everything else, there is a little less thinking that neds to be done and it can make putting together a page a little quicker. Sometimes however it is lovely to put together bits from different collections and make something that in all likelihood no one else has made already!

For this page I can't honestly remember what lines each items came from. I know there is some Websters Pages Hall Pass in there, some Simple Stories (24/7 and sn@p), some Studio Calico embellishments  and I have a sneaking suspicion that the  zig zag border sticker came from a My Minds Eye Collection.

Next time you pull together a motley assortment of stash into a layout you love don't forget to come over and share it with us on the ATDML # Create Facebook Page.

Bo Bunny Boardwalk and Provence

Sharing a layout created for the October gallery today using Bo Bunny papers which the design team were sent to work with this month. The background paper is from their Provence collection which can be found HERE in the store and I used the Porcelain paper.

I started by using my white distress stain to soften the background a little and swept it across the page and around the edges. I then assembled the strips of paper and card along the bottom from the Boardwalk collection HERE and again used stain and large bubblewrap to "paint" subtle marks onto the papers.

There are some lovely seaside and nautical elements that can be cut from the seaside paper in the Boardwalk collection and the white starfish were cut from the Bliss paper, along with the lighthouse and the journaling strips cut from the top card on that paper.

Adding in a few sequins, some twine, some white webbing and a few stickers from Kaisercraft's  Sandy toes paper and I have finally scrapped one of my favourite photographs of my daughter and I taken in 1998. I believe Mel is designing with this collection at the retreat next weekend and I am looking foward to seeing her work her magic with this papers too.

The August Gallery

Some of you may have already seen that the ATDML DT gallery for August is now available for viewing and ooohing and maybe some ahhhing too!

The design team were joined by Laura Johnson this month, and all were working with the lovely and very versatile Echo Park papers and created some fun layouts and some great cards too. The colours are bright and fun and certainly more cheerful than our so called summer with are having! Where have the sunny days disappeared too?

Hopefully the gallery will brighten your day and have you motivated to scrap any sunny summer pictures you may have. This layout created by Dawn certainly makes me want to do just that!

If you are still seeking inspiration after you've been through the gallery don't forget the ChickenSoup challenge at 7pm this evening. Have a crafty weekend everyone!

Double Trouble!

When was the last time you created a double layout? A few years back they use to be quite fashionable in the scrapbooking world, but you don't see so many of them these days. I have been creating a double layout a month as part of the Project 12 challenge ran by a Candian Scrapbooking magazine. There is a double layout sketch provided each month and participants are encouraged to create a 2-pager of their favourite photos of the month. The hardest part isn't pulling a 2-page layout together, not given the sketch does the work for you, but shortlisting which photographs you will use can take a while (especially if you snap away quite frequently!)

The double sketch for June asked for just 4 photographs - a real challenge given our family did plenty, but I'm pleased with my selection with gives a good feel for what occured in June chez the Freeman family. I used papers from my Echo Park collection pack "Walk in the Park" which even came with the bunting style stickers which worked perfectly with the sketch. The collections by Echo Park are so jammed full of product they are perfect for summer pages and make pulling together fun layouts very quick and easy!

Share with us your double pages or your Echo Park creations - we love to see what you all create.
