July Tag Time

For this month's tag we go to the beach - literally, since I added sand and shells I found on the beach when I was on holiday!
To make this tag you will need the July collective and July Montage papers, a 4" x 8" tag, shells and sand, some co-ordinating ribbon, foam pads and pva glue.

Start by covering your tag with paper from the July Montage as shown...
From elsewhere on the July Montage paper cut out the children so that you can add them to the tag with foam pads to create a decoupage 3D effect...

Add a piece of driftwood to the bottom of the tag and start to attach shells using strong glue (like hot glue or glossy accents)...
Mix your sand with some pva glue until it is a thick paste then spread the glue-sand mixture over the bottom of the tag... I also cut out a couple of pictures of other children from the July collective papers and added them at this stage...

Finally cut out some of the poppies to add to the top of the tag and staple on some co-ordinating ribbon...
And you have a tag which is a lovely reminder of a day at the beach.
Happy crafting!
Jane x

Class 12 - Hip to be square \ Hey Y'all by Mel Hand

Hello and welcome to the final class of this weekends cybercrop!

I hope you have all enjoyed it, over on the Facebook page it looks like people are having fun either scrapping at home or in groups with their friends. *waving at Fabiana and co in her scrapping summerhouse!*

My class manages to squeeze in two songs, the first layout features a lot of square elements so I went with Huey Lewis and the News' "Hip to be square" and the second features polaroid frames which reminded me of the line "Shake it like a polaroid picture" from the song "Hey Y'all" by Outkast.

Instructions can be downloaded HERE

Please do upload your creations to the ATDML # Create facebook page and don't forget that there are lots of challenges as well as the classes!

Thanks for joining us for the 2016 cybercrop, remember throughout the year we hold a monthly Virtual Crop with three classes (kits available but you can join in with your own stash) on the third Saturday of every month.

Cyber Crop Challenge 6 - Squeeze: Labelled with Love

Alas your final challenge of the weekend is here but it's a good one, so don't be too sad. Your song inspired challenge number 6 is:

Squeeze - Labelled with Love

Here we challenge you to create a love themed page (maybe even featuring a label), be this a layout of a loved one, of something you love or maybe even a song you love.  Debbie has illustrated this challenge in her layout below.

It's your last challenge of this cybercrop but don't worry, we will be back next month on the third Saturday with your next Virtual crop day and another music inspired challenge. In the meantime share what you create inspired by this challenge in our Facebook gallery.

The weekend is not over yet though, your final class with Mel will be here at 15:30.

Class 11 - Little Things by Debs

I chose this song title for two reasons, firstly because I scrapped photos of my children and I love them and all the little things that add up to make them them. Secondly, this class is all about cutting accents from patterned paper to add little details to your layouts to create the 'big picture'.  This Cedar Lane paper range from Pink Paislee is packed full of little details waiting to be cut out and put on your pages. Hope you enjoy the inspiration.  I am so looking forward to seeing what all the little things on your layouts add up to.

you are LOVED

Class 10 - Blank Space with Ann

Hello all, my second class of the weekend and no less than four pages inspired by the American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift song Blank Space. "Blank Space" is taken from her fifth studio album entitled 1989 which was released in two years ago now.

Of course my link from this song to scrapbooking is to create pages which feature "blank space" which might take a few of you out of your comfort zone!

Download the instructions to create four "blank space" layouts HERE (not just the two layouts shown here).

I used the Websters Pages kit for my pages but there is hopefully plenty of inspiration within the layouts made to inspire you to recreate some or all of them with your own papers. If you really aren't a fan of blank space layouts increase your size or number of photos on each page and layer up those embellishments! So long as you create pages for your albums you are happy with we will have done our job here, and of course do share them in our classes gallery over on Facebook.

Next up is the lovely Debbie at 11:30 with Class 11.

Cyber Crop Challenge 5 - The Beatles: Ticket to Ride

Welcome to Sunday! Can we get a hoorah for another challenge?  We start day 3 of your 2016 cyber crop with challenge 5 and your song is

The Beatles - Ticket to Ride

You should have fun with this one as we challenge you to incorporate tickets on your page, as illustrated by Katherine in her page below.

Be sure to share your creations inspired by this challenge in our Facebook Challenge gallery HERE and stop back here at 10am for your next class with Ann.

Class 9 Book of Days by Mel Hand

Welcome to my first class of the weekend "Book of Days"

I wanted to make a mini book ready to fill with photos of days out and about so I created a "Book of Days!" The kit included a lot of paper from the Bo Bunny Juliet range but of course you could easily make this with products from your own stash!

Instructions for the class can be downloaded HERE.

Don't forget to join us on the ATDML # Create Facebook page to share your creations. We will be back tomorrow morning at 8am with another challenge!

Class 8 - Dream A Little Dream with Karen

Now I chose this kit as a challenge to myself as it is a very 'boy based' kit!  I was immediately struck by all the lovely stars and a line from the song Dream A Little Dream of Me popped into my head and so the title for my first layout was sorted:-

Stars Shining Bright Above You

Next I wanted to use some of the 4 x 4 cut aparts and remembered some photos that I had taken of Gracia and Josh about six years ago and they worked perfectly -

Teenage Superstars

My third layout was inspired by the way that the word Awesome featured heavily on the patterned papers.

And on my final layout I wanted to cut out some stars and backfill them with some of the scraps I had left over.

You may want to hunt out a selection of circle punches rather than hand cut the circles in my layouts.

Instructions for these layouts can be downloaded here.

Mel is up next at 20:00,

Class 7 - Kiss from a Rose with Jane

Hello, Jane again and this time one of my favourite songs and a singer who I saw in concert recently - it's Seal with 'Kiss from a Rose'. which featured in one of the Batman films. I hope that this will inspire some lovely floral work - perhaps a handcrafted rose?

And here's my project - a picture frame housing an album of mini layouts which enables you to change the picture you have on show...and of course, lots of roses...

Instructions can be downloaded for free for this class HERE and I really hope you have a go! You could easily replicate the design with your own papers.

Be sure to share your pages inspired by either my mini book or the class title in our Facebook Cyber Crop classes album which can be found HERE.

Next up a dreamy class from Karen at 6pm  - enjoy!

Cyber Crop Challenge 4 - Glen Campbell: Rhinestone Cowboy

Time for another challenge, number four of the weekend and this song is sure to have you singing along whilst you craft

GLEN CAMPBELL - RHINESTONE COWBOY

Your challenge here is to use gems, bling, rhinestones on your page.

Ann has illustrated this challenge in her layout below.

Have fun with the challenge and when you have created a page inspired by this song/challenge do share it HERE in our Facebook challenge gallery.

Your next class is at 4pm and it's the second class of the weekend from Jane.

Class 6 - A Sky Full of Stars by Debs

Hi All, it's been a jam packed weekend already and we're only about half way through. There is lots more fun and music still to be shared.

For this class I've chosen Coldplay's "A Sky Full of Stars" as my inspiration to use stars as accents for the patterned paper on these layouts.  Hope you enjoy putting together your version of these pages. Looking forward to seeing them all.

Class 5 - Summer Lovin - Katherine

Welcome to Summer Lovin....and here is a link to the music too Summer Lovin - so it required lots of summer photos. There is a painty page and a not so painty page, also a bit of stitching if you want to dig out and use a sewing machine on paper.  I hope you enjoy the techniques and the lovely Good Day Sunshine papers by Simple Stories.

Don't forget to post your pictures on our Facebook group ATDML#Create.

I look forward to seeing your pages, and you can find the instructions here.

Next up is Debbie at 1pm

Class 4 - Three Is A Magic Number with Karen

When Gracia was about three, this used to be one of our favourite songs as we were a family of 3.  So when I saw the numbers on the lovely Crate Confetti paper happy memories came flooding back.  I have made two layouts with my kit:-

One featuring Gracia when she was three, or there abouts

and one featuring our little gang of three - when we visited Gracia in Newcastle last year.

Instructions can be downloaded here and as always we would love to see what you make.
Next class is at 11:30 with Katherine.

Cyber Crop Challenge 3 - Coldplay: Yellow

Happy Saturday and welcome back to another day of crafting inspiration from your design team and this is challenge #3.

Your song for this challenge is:

COLDPLAY - YELLOW

Your challenge here, is not to use the colour yellow, which is optional, but to feature a long title, perhaps a lyric from the song as Karen has done in her illustration below.

As before please share your challenge layouts with us on our Facebook page in the gallery for challenges so we can all be inspired and appreciate each others pages.

Your first class for today is at 10am with Karen once again. See you then.

Cyber Crop Challenge 2 - Sam Sparro: Black & Gold

How exciting, it's time for another musically inspired challenge and your song this time is

Sam Sparro: Black & Gold

As you might have guessed your challenge here is to create a papercraft project, layout or card or decorated tag or whatever using Black & Gold colours or accents.

Karen has illustrated this challenge for you below.

We'd love to see you share your challenge layouts with us and have created a challenge layout gallery on Facebook which you can find HERE. Or select the photos tab just under the banner of the ATDML # Create Facebook page and then select the albums tab and finally "add photo".

That's it for today. We will be back tomorrow at 8am with another challenge for you followed by a day full of classes and challenges.

Class 3 - Hunting High & Low with Ann

Welcome to my first class of the weekend, Ann here, and I am excited to share my first musical inspiration with you.

Hunting High and Low is a song by the Norwegian band A-ha. It was released as the final single from the band's debut album, Hunting High and Low, in 1986 and was one of my favourite songs of the eighties. I thought it would make a fabulous inspiration for a song theme scrapbook page, well actually for two pages, one "high" and one "low" in respect of the photo placement.

Layout - HIGH

Layout - LOW

Instructions can be downloaded for free for this class HERE and I really hope you enjoy creating them. Papers used in the illustrated examples are by Gltiz designs but you can easily replicate the design with your own papers.

Be sure to share your pages inspired by either my layouts or the class title in our Facebook Cyber Crop classes album which can be found HERE.

Your next class is tomorrow morning but before then we will close the evening with another challenge at 11pm.

Class 2 - Writing to Reach you with Jane

Hello and welcome to my first class of the weekend. My musical inspiration starts with Scottish band Travis and a song from their 1999 album 'The Man Who'.  The song is 'Writing to Reach you' and I hope it will inspire you to do some journaling!

My project is a mini album which contains a variety of types of pages and features such as envelopes, file folders, flip out pages and secret keepers - for your most private journaling! It uses Graphic 45's World's Fair collection...

Instructions can be downloaded for free for this class HERE and I really hope you have a go! You could easily replicate the design with your own papers.

Be sure to share your pages inspired by either my mini book or the class title in our Facebook Cyber Crop classes album which can be found HERE.

Your next class is 10pm with Ann who brings you an 80's classic!

Cyber Crop Challenge 1 - Kaiser Chiefs: Ruby

Challenge time for you, and for many I know this is one of your favourite parts of our cyber and virtual crops.  We will be sticking with the music theme for each of these and your challenges will be inspired by songs, and illustrated by one of the design team.

So what song inspired challenge do we have in store for you to start?

CHALLENGE #1 Kaiser Chiefs - Ruby

Your first challenge is to use red and/or red rhinestones on your page.

This challenge has been illustrated by Jane below.

We'd love to see you share your challenge layouts with us and have created a challenge layout gallery on Facebook which you can find HERE. Or select the photos tab just under the banner of the ATDML # Create Facebook page and then select the albums tab and finally "add photo".

Your next class is at 8pm and we will be sticking with Jane and her first class of the weekend.

Class 1 - Windmills of Your Mind - Katherine

Hello and welcome to our Cybercrop, there are loads of classes and lots of inspiration....if you didn't manage to get the kits then you can put together your own kit, and the papers that you need are listed in our Facebook group - ATDML #Create - and there will be lots of chatter there too.  We also have a gallery on Facebook for you to display your Class pages and also post your pages for the Challenges too.

In this class we use some 12" acetate - I photographed it on white cardstock, and then pages with lots of circles which ties in with the song theme - during my teens I discovered and a greatest hits type tape (that makes me feel old...tape!) Dusty Springfield and remember listening to this song quite a bit...so if you fancy some music whilst you scrap here it is...Windmills of Your Mind

Have a plate and some other circles for drawing around.

Also paint and printed circles.

I hope you've enjoyed the class and look forward to seeing your creations.
