Looking Forward To A Bumper Week of Prizes...

As per Ann's post there is still time to enter our challenges and there will be some prizes for those. You have until Sunday evening at 6pm to get those uploaded.

In addition we will have a slight schedule amendment and this fortnights Trends on Tuesday will make the short hop over to Thursday because on Tuesday we will be participating in the UKScrappers Blog Hop!

If you complete the hop and comment on all the blogs you will be entered for a special prize with donations from various UKS sponsors including a £15 ATDML voucher.

In addition we may just have a special offer for our blog readers on that day as well :)

I have nothing crafty to share today - my only creative project on the go is a layout which will feature in the blog hop post. I will however be making some time to get scrapping next week as I have a head full of inspiration still from the cyber crop and a whole lot of pictures that are just waiting for me to pick them up and get scrapping!

Rise to the challenge

Just a few more days left to enter our cybercrop challenges. There are six in all and details can be found HERE. Plenty of opportunities for a quick page or card too with our sketch challenge or our scraplift challenge too. Closing date to share your images with us using our inlinkz tool is Sunday 1st July.
If you've not popped by the shop recently there are new October Afternoon papers Cakewalk and 9 to 5 and some rather lovely new coloured Cosmic Shimmers in. I've just received an order and I LOVE the October Afternoon 9 to 5 range!  I have both sets of the new mini marker alphabet stickers too. These are my absolute favourite alpha stickers as they last ages and are great for mixing up when you run our of one letter or a certain colour. I used them on my Kaiser Chiefs layout that I did as an example of the journalling challenge last weekend.

and this layout from the February DT gallery shows how you can mix and match the different colours in this sticker range.

Websters Pages June Gallery

Over the course of our busy cybercrop weekend the June gallery was uploaded featuring  projects from the design team and guest designer Denise Holmes.  Not a manufacturer I usually get excited over I was however VERY much in love with this paper I got in my kit!

And it featured on a fair amount of my projects for the gallery this month too! This quick and simple 3 panel, one photo page of my youngest at our friends wedding still has the journalling to be added to the lefthand cardstock panel but you see how when combined with neutral colours the pastel heart paper is just so pretty!

And on this soppy page feauturing my husband I show how, despite being from a wedding collection of papers the hearts can be used on a male page that has no wedding theme at all.

Both the FOREVER and the CHERISH words used on the above pages come from this paper which has a nice neutral coloured back to it as well featuring a petal shaped pattern which I cut out and added to the top layout. Plenty left over to use on cards too!

The black paper with the white dotty pattern can be found here.
If you are inspired by any of the projects in our June gallery and thinking to yourself, I'd like to scraplift that, dont forget to enter the scraplift challenge posted over the weekend, ends this Sunday July 1st, and be in with a chance to win a prize!

**Cybercrop Class 12** By Ann Freeman

Final class for the weekend sadly, but hopefully you still have time for a little more inspiration, this time a Jubilee layout from Ann using 7 Gypsies Postale papers.  Of course you can play along with your own products that is fine, just use the class to kickstart a page.

Plenty of space for extra photos in the cute mini book on the page and lots of journaling too. Click HERE to download your instructions for this class, then be sure to share your layouts afterwards with us here on the blog.

Happy crafting people, we will be back later with a quick round up of the weekend, until then....

**Cybercrop Challenge 6** SCRAPLIFT IT

Final challenge for the weekend and a nice easy one for you. Simply visit the May or June Design team gallery, chose a layout and Scraplift it. Scraplift simply means take inspiration from the layout you see. You can copy it exactly or simply choose elements to repeat such as product placement, the overall layout design of the photos/title etc - the choice is yours.

Some of you will know our gallery was hacked last month and we lost many years of inspirational layouts and projects from the design team. We are working hard to restore them for you but it is a very labour intensive task sadly.  We'd love to see your appreciation of the hard work the designers put in each month so rise to the challenge, go scraplift a layout and share it with us here on the blog , as always, using the inlinkz tool.

One last class to follow at 3pm from Ann Freeman as we wind down our weekend of crafting. Remember all the classes will stay up on the main site for a while yet but the challenge deadline is next Sunday 1st July at 6pm.

**Cybercrop Class 11** By Karen Moss

Thank you for joining us again for another cybercrop class, this our penultimate for the weekend, a mini book with Karen Moss. You are either using the Echo Park Spring mini kit for this class or of course you can join in with your own supplies. Karen has also given you a template worksheet with this cute class.

You can download them along with the class instructions HERE and when you are finished creating remember share your class project with us. Simply click on the link below. The final cybercrop class is at 3pm but not before another challenge at 1 o'clock.  Hope to see you back here then! Happy crafting!

**Cybercrop Class 10** by Rachael Elliott

Good morning scrappers and welcome to your first class on this fine Sunday morning.Rachael brings us the delightful layout class today is soft wistful tones using Websters' Pages papers from their Western Romance collection.

**Cybercrop Challenge 5** Olympic Podium

Happy Sunday morning crafty people. Thank you for joining us again as we continue on with the final day of our cybercrop. What better way to start than with another challenge! With the London 2012 Olympics just around the corner we thought it was a topical subject worthy of it's own challenge. So step on up to the Olympic Medal winners podium of 1-2-3. For this challenge we ask that you create a scrapbook page featuring
  1. ONE sheet of cardstock
  2. TWO sheets of patterned paper
  3. THREE photographs
You can also add stickers for your title/journaling, use ink, paint or pens and adhesive and add a few embellishments too, but only use 1 sheet of card, no more than two patterned papers and include three photos! Take a look at how some of the design team rose to the challenge.

Ann's layout - Sweet child of mine features a woven background from her first patterned paper and then a 4"x12" strip across the page with her second.

Karen Moss's layout - Here come the girls featuring not only a trio of photos but a trio of handmade leaves and paper roses too.

Dawn's layout - Ticket to ride using My Little Shoebox papers and varying the size of the three photos used.

Don't forget to share your finished challenge with us here in this post using our inlinkz tool. See you back here in an hour for your first class of the day with Rachael and it's a pretty one that is for sure!  First class for today will be posted here at 10am.

**Cybercrop Challenge 4** SKETCH IT!

Shhh, almost time for bed, but before you go, or maybe first thing tomorrow here is a sketch challenge for you. Take the sketch below, supplied by our very own Jane, and use it to inspire a layout or card.

Of course we have a couple of Design Team illustrations for you.

Karen Moss uses Simple Stories Destinations papers in her Bologna Babes layout replacing the circle with a giant luggage tag and swaps the photo placement on the far right with the journalling block on the far left.

Katherine's Jet Ski Layout
For this challenge I shrunk down the sketch and placed the circle up in the top section of the page. I used the lovely Websters Pages Sunday picnic papers to document our family fun at legoland

Jane's Canvas
For this challenge I was keen to use my latest photos of my niece Daisy who is now back in our lives after a 4 year absence. I made my layout on a canvas that had been painted with a dark cream acrylic paint. I chose the Echo Park 'Times and Seasons' papers because I wanted a daisy design but my niece is not a 'girly' girl so I didn't want a pink or overly flowery theme. Some plain white 'daisy like' paper flowers and 'Roller Rink' Thickers completed my canvas.

Dawn's Happy Days layout features Simple Stories papers and sticking pretty close to the original sketch format for a fresh summary page.

As always we'd love to see your creations so when you are done, some share them on this post using the inlinkz tool and maybe win a little something crafty from us. We will be back again tomorrow morning for the final day of our cybercrop. Enjoy and feel free to post some late night chat telling us how you are getting along this weekend. Just leave us a comment!

**Cybercrop Class 9** By Dawn Evans

**Cybercrop Class 7** By Katherine Sutton

**Cybercrop Challenge 3** READ ALL ABOUT IT

Our second challenge of the day up for you now as we ask you to join in this journalling challenge called READ ALL ABOUT IT. This challenge is to increase the amount of journalling you include on your next project, indeed make it quite a feature of your page. We are sure you all have stories out there you have yet to tell explaining the background to a photo, a costume worn, a nickname given...jot them down for this challenge and share your projects with us. The design team have examples to their contributions to this challenge which we hope you enjoy reading.

Amazing Grace by Karen Moss

Kaiser Chief - Predict a Riot by Ann Freeman

Love To Read by Mel Hand

As with our 2 previous challenges this one is open until 6pm on Sunday July 1st 2012. Your next class is at 6pm with Katherine.

Uploading your cybercrop projects

Just wanted to do a quick blog post to assist any of you who don't have blogs with uploading images of your cybercrop creations. It seems that you have to put a url address in when sharing images using inlinkz and this will be the location that anyone clicking on the image is taken to to view your work. Most people have Facebook pages and if you upload your images to Facebook and then right click on those images you can select "copy image url". If you then paste this in to the URL box when uploading photos it will only show your image and no other Facebook information. Hope that helps a little, it may take a while before the image appears on our blog, but please don't be disheartened, we love seeing your work!

**Cybercrop Class 6** By Debbie Jewell

As promised we're back with another class for you, this time from our Debbie who brings you a gorgeous page with lots to look at.

Class instructions can be downloaded here and as always we'd love to see you projects from this class. Share them using our link below. If you have any problems with this please do leave us a comment and one of the team will come back to you. We will be back in an hour with another challenge for you. Until then....Happy crafting!

**Cybercrop Class 5** By Karen Moss

Good afternoon crafty people - hope you are all enjoying the weekend. We are very much enjoying seeing your projects appearing in our gallery, please keep sharing!

Next class for you now by the lovely Karen Moss who has also supplied a template file to download to help you too with a hearts or stars option- the choice is yours.

You can download the class instructions HERE and when you are finished pop back here to our blog and share your class project with us. Simply click on the link below and add your image straight from your pc, no need to upload or blog first (though you can if you wish!). **Cybercrop Class 3** By Ann Freeman

Hope you are having a very happy Saturday morning, welcome to your first class on this day two of our cybercrop. This is a cute minibook made with envelopes with plenty of space for extra photographs or additional journalling. I made mine of the recent Jubilee weekend celebrations.

**Cybercrop Challenge 2** JUBILEE BUNTING

Welcome to the start of your Saturday cybercrop as with kick off with a BUNTING challenge.

Recently the Jubilee saw an array of Union flags (or Union Jacks) on display in many homes, in shops and streets, so we challenge you to add some bunting to a project. Again our design team have some projects to share illustrating how they rose to the challenge which we hope you will play along with.

By Jane
With the recent Diamond jubilee it seemed only fitting that my bunting challenge should be themed in this way. The photos were taken just before the jubilee on a visit to London to meet some dear friends from Texas. I was delighted to see all the flags and bunting everywhere in London. This is a really simple page made with a sheet of white card with a union flag design applied with distress stains mounted on a sheet of blue Bazzill. The bunting is made with left over photo printing paper and the whole page is then finished by adding journaling and doodling, some Prima 'Say it in crystals' and white 'Jewellery box' Thickers.

By Katherine - Home Sweet Home
I love adding bunting to my projects, for this challenge I decided to go off the page, and make a frame for our house. I die cut some Home Sweet Home tags and then use Crate Papers Farmhouse collection to make the backing papers (which I also stitched). I hung my bunting and added a few stickers to complete it.

By Karen Cole - Jubilee Weekend.
Another Jubilee example, this time featuring papers by 7Gypsies Postale collection

By Mel Hand - Jubilee Street Party.
And yet another Jubilee layout! This time Mel uses a clean graphic style to document a trip to a local street party. Mel used off cuts of neutral paper and cardstock to create the bunting triangles and accented them with red white and blue decorative elements.

This challenge is open until 6pm on Sunday the 1st July 2012 so plenty of time to play along and share your bunting projects using our inlinkz tool to be in with a chance to win something in our random prize draw. First class of the day will be up at 10am with Ann and a Simple Stories project to tempt you. See you back here then.

**Cybercrop Challenge 1** STAMP YOUR FEET

Our first challenge for the weekend entitled STAMP YOUR FEET!
Time to dig out your much loved stamps and put them to use on a new project for this weekend. You can stamp on a layout, maybe with alphabet stamps for a the title or a stamped image, or if you prefer stamp on a card or a tag and share it with us here. For each of the challenges this weekend we will bring you some design team projects illustrating how they interpreted the challenge. Feel free to use these to inspire you as well.

Example by Ann
I don't automatically reach for the ink when stamping but lately find myself using paint more often. It leaves a thicker less than perfect stamp which can be left as it is or jazzed up with stickles or glossy accents to provide a variety of different looks. Here I stamped THOSE in white paint.

Example by Jane
For this challenge I decided to make a card and not only stamp but emboss my stamped design and do a resist technique. I stamped the background with a large Chinese script stamp onto gold card then aged it by applying black ink. For the front stamped image I applied wild honey distress stain to some white card then when it was dry stamped the Chinese characters with versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder. I then used black ink to cover the whole piece, rubbing back to reveal the stamped image. A wide grosgrain ribbon and a mini origami kimono finished my oriental themed card.

Example by Katherine - The Puffle Story
Many of you might ask what a Puffle is - it is the orange fluffy thing in my sons hands in the picture, and the page documents how we lost and found the treasured Puffle. For this challenge the focus was stamping, so I die cut some circles and stamped in the middle of some of them using Autumn Leaves - Flourishes version 3 and lots of different coloured inks, the papers are Crate Papers Farmhouse range.

The challenge is open until 6pm on Sunday the 1st July 2012 so plenty of time to play along and STAMP YOUR FEET! Why not share your creations below using our inlinkz tool to be in with a chance to win something in our random prize draw? That is our Friday night complete for classes and challenges. See you back here tomorrow morning for more fun and crafting inspiration.

Trends on Tuesday - Chevrons

Chevrons/Zig Zags are still really popular, in papers and on stamps.  I used Crate Papers Farmhouse collection for my page (and used the negatives for my title I looked at a little while back) and created a rainbow pattern with all the different papers.  For my page I used a die cut machine to cut them out, however there are lots of different ways of making them.  You can just measure meticulously and cut your own out, or you can use this super folded chevron tutorial  by Julia Stainton which I love - here is the link.  Chevron papers make a great basic in your stash and lots of different manufacturers have them in their collections like Simple Stories here, so you don't have to make your own.

Here are some other great chevron pages to get your creative juices flowing like

Mandie's chevron packed pages (not sure whether some of them technically class as arrows, but they have a great zig zag feel) where she shows how well they can work on boys pages,  here  is the link

This page by Lynne Stewart on Crate Papers Blog,  here is the link,  not only has she used a chevron style print for the background, but she has created her own chevrons using diamond shaped pieces of paper.

Finally you can also even stitch a chevron as shown by this gorgeous card over on American Crafts site by Cindy Toben, here is the link.

Hopefully that has given you lots of ideas to incorporate some more chevrons into your pages...maybe use them in this weekends Cybercrop too (so excited about it as there are lots of fantastic challenges and classes coming up)

Football scrapping

It has been a busy time in my household with both Darren and I swamped with report writing. I am so lucky that the wonderful Ann freeman has once again masterminded the cyber crop planning and is liaising with our lovely DT to continue with preparations.

Tonight I am enjoying a night off from report writing and after a late night yesterday I am planning on an early one tonight after the football. You may know that our house is definitely a football following house. As the scrapping has been on hold for report writing I thought I would re-post the layout I created for the 2010 world cup.... Look out for a 2012 version sometime when I have a little more time.

It is half time in the England v Sweden game as I post this.... I *really* hope that the result is still a win for England by the end of the game!

This is a busy sporting year with the European football, Wimbledon and of course the Olympics! Will you be scrapping the summer of sport or using your scrapbooks as a creative escape from the sporting frenzy!

In other news there have been some new arrivals in store. The brand new Carta Bella products are here And can be found in here New Products

Further details of what you need for each class will be posted throughout the week so there will be plenty of time to order anything special you might need.

So now you have a timetable you can get started on a little pre-cybcercrop challenge! Make a planner!
I love making planners to get me organised for my weekend. I usually opt for using C6 envelopes that way they can hold 6x4 photos I will print off in advance to be ready to make the most of my weekend. If you'd like to join in and get ready for the fun weekend we have in store be sure to leave a comment to this post with a link to your planner! We'd love to see them!
